La Veranda di Serena

One of the most relaxing place directly in front of the sea, with a little private beach. Very quiet, always cool thanks to the sea breeze, recommended for those who enjoy the sea sound. Breathtaking views from our room. Mr. Chandana will help arrange excursions. Friendly and warm welcome.

Located on the main road and walkable to Unawatuna beach. When I checked in I was shown to my delux double with sea view. First question I always ask does the tv work. The answer was no. I advised I had booked my room over 5 months in advance with an advertised tv. No working tv was unacceptable. They immediately changed tv sets and programmed access to Apps of which I was happy with Youtube. Negative review avoided. The young manager was friendly and helpful during my stay. My room up on the first floor faced directly to the ocean. It was a clean, modest size room. A small mirror table & stool, slatted table & wardrobe made up the furniture inclusions. The aircon, ceiling fan & fridge all worked fine. Lighting was good throughout. My bed had clean linens and afforded me a comfortable sleep to the sound of the waves. There was a power point at the side of the bed. The bathroom was compact though the shower was an enclosed unit. The hot water rain shower had excellent water pressure. One quirk was the toilet seat would not stay up. This should be addressed. The balcony was shared with a room next door but the table and 2 chairs were recessed so as to maintain a degree of privacy. Sitting on the balcony watching the ocean with a nice sea breeze was just divine. Breakfast for me was an omelet, toast, mixed fruit and juice. Enough to get me through the day. Marmalade was also available. There are restaurants in other hotels nearby for dinner. There is a sandy area right at the front & there are a couple of small areas between the rocks for a dip. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay here. Happy to recommend.

Great beachfront location, less than 15 minute walk from main street of restaurants and shops etc. Poor customer care and difficult to find staff members at any time. Rooms could do with a deep clean and some updating! Electrical work going on during the day with lots of loud drilling. No restaurant available, as advertised.

We had simply wonderful days at the hotel "La Veranda Di Serena". This was thanks to the hotel's fantastic location at the eastern end of Unawatuna Bay, as it was literally right by the sea! Only a small wall separated us from the first floor room from the surf at high tide. The palm-fringed breakfast terrace with a view of the bay remains unforgettable. The same goes for the remarkable attentiveness of the manager of the house, Chandana, who was always in a good mood and fulfilled every conceivable wish! His cordiality and constant helpfulness far exceeded the average guest orientation. His staff were committed to supporting the development of an extremely positive atmosphere. The overall design of the hotel also of the beautiful inner courtyard was extremely loving and original. The price-performance ratio was top. Wir hatten einfach traumhaft schöne Tage im Hotel „La Veranda Di Serena“. Dies war der fantastischen Lage des Hotels am östlichen Ende der Unawatuna Bay zu verdanken, denn es lag buchstäblich direkt am Meer! Vom Erdgeschoss-Zimmer trennte uns nur eine kleine Mauer von der Brandung bei Flut. Die Palmen-gesäumte Frühstücks-Terrasse mit Blick in die Bucht bleibt unvergessen. Ebenso die bemerkenswerte Zugewandtheit des Chefs des Hauses, Chandana, der jederzeit mit guter Laune alle nur erdenklichen Wünsche erfüllte! Seine Herzlichkeit und ständige Hilfsbereitschaft übersteigt bei weitem eine durchschnittliche Gästeorientiertheit. Seine Mitarbeiter unterstützten engagiert die Entwicklung einer ausgesprochen positiven Atmosphäre. Die Gesamtgestaltung des Hotels, auch des schönen Innenhofs war ausgesprochen liebevoll und auch originell. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war topp.

As shown on pictures and better! Room overlooking the ocean, small private beach , great for swimming and sunbathing. Breakfast is so delicious (traditional string hoppers and dal - spicy lentil soup ) , fresh smoothy , big platter of fresh fruit and Sri Lankan coffee ! You basically don’t need more till dinner . Chandana and his family are great host and can accommodate any needs and wishes you may have.

Beautiful accommodation spotlessly clean and the closest (it’s on the beach) you will get Superb breakfast Stayed a week Chandana the owner so knowledgeable and willing to help at any time, a real nice guy, do anything to help So close to Unawatuna and Galle (minutes) Perfect location to chill and do as much or little as you like Thoroughly recommend

Хороший отель. Находится прямо на берегу. Жили в номере с видом на индийский океан. Вид потрясающий. Мебель в номерах не первой свежести, но номер уютный. Хороший WIFI. Смотрели через ТВ бокс российские каналы. Уборка, пляжные полотенца по требованию. Завтрак однотипный входил в стоимость проживания. Яйца, тосты, сок, джем, тарелка фруктов, чай, кофе. У отеля можно окунуться, поплескаться. Пляжа как таковой нету. Хороший пляж находится в 5-10 минутах ходьбы, как фруктовая и алкогольная палатки. Отдохнули хорошо. Надеюсь вернёмся сюда на следующий год.

La Veranda di Serena ha reso incantevole la vacanza in Srilanka con il mio fidanzato. Dovevamo restare a Unawatuna pochi giorni e invece questo posto ci ha incantato e siamo restati qui due settimane! La meravigliosa spiaggia privata, con le sue gigantesche palme, garantisce privacy e relax: la si può paragonare ad una spiaggia delle Seychelles o dei Caraibi per i molteplici colori azzurri del mare che rimane basso per decine di metri e quindi balneabile da chiunque. Io che adoro fare snorkeling ero sempre in acqua per vedere anche vicino alla riva tante specie di pesci e talvolta anche le tartarughe! Abbiamo soggiornato nel meraviglioso attico al terzo piano che offre grandi spazi. Dall' appartamento si gode una vista mozzafiato su tutta la baia di Unawatuna oltre ad essere cullati dal dolce rumore delle onde giorno e notte. Il gestore della struttura è sempre presente per esaudire qualsiasi richiesta ed il personale è estremamente gentile e disponibile. La vacanza trascorsa ad Unawatuna alla Veranda di Serena è stata una esperienza indimenticabile e per il prossimo viaggio in Sri Lanka torneremo in questa splendida struttura.
