The breakfast was average. There was one tasteless musli. For fruit only apples and hard kiwis were offered. I ordered an omelet with cheese. I received a cold omelet without cheese. We were told the hotel restaurant served no lunch, only dinner starting at 8:00 p.m. As it turned out, they did serve lunch. The have no beverages listed on the menu. During our stay a wedding reception booked a room directly in front of our room. It was very loud and we were forced to hear the wedding party music until late in the night. We will never return to the Hacienda del Cardenal.

We booked a couple of nights through a famous platform and they cancelled our booking with no clear reason. They have a wedding during those days so I belive they want to sell the room at a higher price.

We only stayed for one night at the hotel, and I was a little concerned when we first arrived, as a wedding was taking place, and it was very busy, but I have to say it didn't affect our stay. The receptionist was good, she told us where we could park the car close by, and our room was beautiful. It was also very quiet. We dined in the restaurant in the evening, the food was very good, as was breakfast the following morning.

GREAT Location - it is part of an old palace - Spacious Room - Comfortable Bed - Windows upon up - Beautiful Balcony. Interesting eclectic environment. With we had more time to spend and learn about the history of the hotel. The interesting thing is they did not have food or bar service available and we stayed on a Wednesday evening. Unsure why this was the case.

Could be an amazing hotel but it is not. The property in its self is beautiful but unfortunately totally unkept. Being it’s privately owned and lacks courteous staff training, disheveled rooms, outdoor areas. Broken windows with rusted nails exposed, broken stone benches thruout, dirty pool. The pool is a wading pool not a swimming pool. Photos do not reflect the state the property is in. Small fridges are either not working or very loud. Restaurant amenities are only breakfast and offers nothing for guests. Restaurant is closed midweek. My room faced a stone wall. Your front desk staff is truly a body only. Unwelcoming and attitude of it is what it is. Silvia was her name and I have to say I was a bit shocked by her attitude when another elderly guest complained that they could not carry their luggage. She simply turned around and said “we are not a 5 star hotel so we do not need to do that” A tremendous disappointment for my first in Toledo

Hotel location and atmosphere excellent. Restaurant also, not the usual menu , but a really good selection of Spanish & local cuisine. The Bad news is that the staff, especially at reception are surly & unwelcoming as if the guests are an imposition. One doesn’t feel welcome, serious retraining needed on how to treat customers. I’ve been coming here for 36 years , but won’t return, except maybe to the restaurant
