Pugdundee Safaris- Tree House Hideaway

Wow what an amazing place from the moment we arrived to a very warm welcome to the moment we left with the whole team standing by to wave us goodbye. We loved the tree house and balcony looking out into the jungle, it was lovely to be able to sit out a watch and listen to so ***y different birds. All the staff went out of thier way to help and were always friendly. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We loved the eco friendly ethos especially the water refillable water bottles ( no plastic here) Our natralist Priyo was great and very knowledgeable and our guides were amazing especially the young lady (marixxxx) sadly can't remember her name who was with us on our first outing then I the afternoon we went out with Vijay who's keen ears and eyes delivered the most amazing tiger experience and we were able to spend about 40 minutes observing her from a few feet away. Would we visit again....... absoloutely, in a heart beat

We have been here for 3 nights but it would have been easy to spent the entire vocation. At arrival time we have been guided to our room and that is their expectation as well. Don't explore the resort by yourself, especially after sundown, as it's bordering the national park. The staff will pick you up at your room and guide you back. The rooms have a private veranda and you can relax during the safari break. the food is very nice!

Fabulous lodge with just six ‘tree houses’ set amongst beautiful grounds and adjacent to the National Park. Central area with tree house bar and comfortable restaurant. You’re served snacks in the bar ahead of dinner in the restaurant and the food is plentiful and delicious. The staff are super helpful and friendly - especially the ***ager. We were there during the festival of Holi when the park was closed and the guys put on lots of extra activities to keep us occupied and to help us understand the festival. On other nights there was local dancing and a bush supper. Lots of effort goes in to making your stay one to remember. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed including balconies with a view and mosquito nets. I don’t like bugs and I was happy.

This place was the highlight of our 3 week trip. We were here for 4 nights, at first we were concerned that it would be too long especially if it turned out to be a bit unpleasant. Admittedly our concern increased as we continued down smaller and smaller and rougher and rougher roads. We needn't have worried. We loved our treehouse, loved the food, loved the service, loved the park. Didn't want to leave. The staff was great and so friendly, if they couldn't understand our requests they kept trying until they found a way to help us. The food in the restaurant is exceptional. It was table service instead of the usual buffet style we found at other lodges. I don't have an issue with buffet style but this did seem a little more personalized and it was still all you can eat. The serving staff just kept coming back to the table offering more and more food. Our treehouse was spacious, immaculate and very nicely furnished. We had a lovely deck overlooking the forest, there was even a fan on the back deck that was very effective at keeping away the bugs. There are two types of treehouse we were told by another guest, older original treehouses and the newer treehouses. They are essentially the same but the older ones have a little more of a "rustic" feel. Some guests prefer those feeling they are more true to a treehouse. We had a newer one so I can't compare, but I was very happy with ours. I don't think you can go wrong either way. They are all in a beautiful setting! The lodge is close to the park... there's multiple gates.. the closet one is 10 mins away...the furthest one is 20 mins away.

An interesting place to stay, consisting of six "tree houses" built among rather than in the trees, perfectly comfortable with air conditioning and mosquito nets on the beds. Although there are other places to stay ***** the rather rough dirt road leading to the venue, the property is large enough to feel isolated and its border is right against a portion of the preserve with a watering hole nearby (we were warned not to walk there after dark). There is a rustic bar and restaurant in a lodge building, and food was plentiful and very good. The ***ager here is particularly friendly and helpful. My driver/guide was provided by my safari company and was especially good at finding tigers, of which we saw quite a few, ***** with some striking bird life such as a serpent eagle.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tree House Hideaway. Our room was quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff. Every one of them treated us like royalty. It's obvious that this comes from the top down as Ashish was a wonderful host! The food was quite enjoyable and we had fantastic safaris as well!

We stayed for three nights and went on four safaris. The experience was very good. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our guide was excellent and looked after us throughout our stay. The treehouse themselves are rustic, but contained everything we required and it was nice to have a balcony to sit out on. Food was very good but there is quite a lot. We didn't have the lunches and were quite happy with just breakfast and dinner. Most people go here to see a tiger and we were fortunate enough to see quite a few and fairly close to us. The drives were varied because separate areas of the park are accessible via different gates and this made the experience more interesting. We were quite happy to see other wildlife and were fortunate to see a number of different animals and birds. We visited four Pugdundee camps (all at different parks) during our visit and this was probably our favourite. All of their camps are quite a long way from the various park gates, but this one was one of the closest.

When I first arrived at this place I thought wow, this is going to be awesome. Sadly it went downhill from there. Though this place has ***y positives, one incident in particular has left a sour taste in my mouth. On returning to my room after dinner, I realised my camera bag had been moved and tampered with. Upon inspection I noticed several lenses and a camera body had been moved from their original place in the bag and thrown haphazardly back in. All lenses had the lens caps removed. Naturally my first thought was that something had broken and given I was there on a photographic holiday to take pics of tigers my heart sank. I was furious as the only time this could have happened is when the room attendant came to turn down the bed and deploy the mosquito net while I was at dinner. I immediately reported this to ***agement and explained the situation (my thoughts re what happened was that the room attendant went to move my bag, and as it was open, he spilled the contents. In a panic he hastily and randomly threw the equipment back in). A short time later the ***ager arrived with the fellow who serviced my room. I once again explained the situation and showed them the state of my bag and equipment inside. The room attendant was asked if he had any idea how this happened. He looked me in the eyes and said no, it was not him. Needless to say I was not amused. I told the ***ager I did not want anybody in my room (for any reason) for the duration of my stay. He said that would not be a problem. The following day I received a text telling me the room attendant had owned up to spilling the contents of the camera bag as he moved it and in a panic just threw the gear back in. So, the previous night he looked me in the eyes and blatantly lied. I wonder what made him finally confess. So, the next night after dinner I return to my room and sure enough somebody had once again serviced my room after strict instructions not to. I confronted ***agement once again with this. They had the audacity to come up with some half backed meaningless excuse. Obviously, they forgot or just decided to completely ignore my original request. The fact that a staff member had tampered with my gear and then lied about it has left me with a negative memories of this place. ***agement really needs to step up a gear and staff need to be more honest with guests when issues arise. I would never return to this place given how they lied to my face and ignored my requests. If you stay here, keep your valuables locked up or with you.

A beautiful place to experience wild life and relaxing in the eco friendly luxury tree houses. They are 100 percent plastic free and eco-friendly. The food is simple and local as well as tasty. The desserts are also healthy and tasty and ice creams are made there itself and are too good. The staff A to Z are always smiling and making our lives comfortable. Mr.Ashish is extremely nice and makes us feel at home. He took us on safaris too and has a lot of knowledge and knows the forest very well. His efforts are very visible in making pugdundee a 100 percent go to again place.
