Swinton Park

From start to finish everything was perfect. Everyone made us feel so welcome, from the staff to our fellow guests. We had so many great conversations with such a diverse group of wonderful people. We had a complimentary room upgrade which was wonderful, we stayed for 2 nights in the Thirsk room; which was lovely, warm and comfortable. I would recommend the Champagne welcome package and late checkout, it was great to enjoy a chilled glass of champagne in our room as we got ready for dinner. We ate both nights at Samuel’s, which is in a stunningly decorated dining hall, the service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Breakfast both days was also at Samuel’s and it was really nice; great value. They have cooked and continental available and it was all good quality. I would have liked more sweet options on the menu, perhaps French toast or waffles. But that’s just nitpicking. There’s loads of activities you can join in to, we really enjoyed the cocktail tasting at the Terrace bar, where we acted as guinea pigs for new cocktail creations, it was a fun experience. The cocktails which we actually paid for were also very good. Likewise the cocktails at Samuel’s bar were also well made. The spa was amazing, I especially liked the Finnish sauna and outdoor hydrotherapy pool and hot tub. The outdoor pool is cold but just take the plunge! You will not regret it. The spa also has lovely outdoor beds, with warm blankets and a hot water bottle. Perfect to relax with a few drinks. There’s honesty just too much to say, the house itself is stunning, the grounds are gorgeous and I cannot wait to return again.

Lovely hotel and staff, food delicious! Great location near to Masham, though a quiet setting didn't feel too far from larger towns such as Ripon.

We spent two wonderful days at Swinton Estate Hotel - superb accomodation in beautiful, very extensive grounds with woodland, lakes and a deer park to explore at leisure. Excellent spa facilities including excellent swimming pool with extensive opening hours, access to which included in room rate throughout the stay.

Wonderful night’s stay at Swinton. Enjoyed the spa, dinner in Samuel’s and walking the grounds. Was the perfect night away and the property is so well equipped you’ll not run out of things to do. Billiards / Games room was really fun in the evening.

I am fairly well travelled. Swinton is up there with the best. Simply superb in every way. Expensive but understandably so.

Would visit again without doubt and would thoroughly recommend for a relaxing and unpretentious break in beautiful surroundings.

We have just returned from our stay at Swinton and it was excellent! We noticed a number of changes since our last visit 12months ago (this place never rests onits laurels). Samuel's has had a refreshing update, the breakfast has been revamped and probably the biggest change we noticed was the Samuel's evening menu completely changed! Personally speaking, it really suited us as there is now a much greater choice. We normally stay for at least a week and on previous occasions we have struggled somewhat due to a lack of variation night after night. This forced us to go out for evening meals rather than stay on Swinton estate. This time no such issues! The choices in both the Terrace and Samuels restaurant are excellent (the lobster in Samuels being my personal highlight!). This time we also tried the BBQ at the deer house. This provided a more casual dining experience in the beautiful surroundings overlooking Swinton. The food was delicious and we'd definitely try it again (although next time we'd book an earlier slot as they had run out of some mains when we arrived). We each had three spa treatments during our stay and they were the best we have ever had! A massive thanks to all the staff in the spa who were all excellent. If you're not sure what treatment to have we can personally recommend the new Oskia Body Glow. And finally, as we say year after year, yes the hotel is gorgeous, the food amazing, and the views are stunning however, the main reason we return time after time is because of the amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast staff in particular were all superb. Extremely efficient and friendly and made us feel so welcome. And that is the theme throughout the entire hotel. From housekeeping to management they all provide an absolutely first class service. Thank-you Swinton!

A great place to reenergise and relax. The setting makes it so easy to quickly relax and enjoy the space and great facilities.

We received a gift to stay at the hotel for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel was a beautiful place to stay, staff where exceptional and could not do enough for us. Bags where taken from the car straight to our room. We where shown around the hotel by a member of staff before being taken to our room. We stay in one of the Knights rooms in the castle which was absolutely amazing. We had a evening meal in the Samuel Restaurant which was fantastic Grounds are beautiful and immense, we went for a short walk saw the birds of prey and the walled garden. Very peaceful break and absolutely stunning
