I am paraplegic and I was travelling with my eight-year-old son. On August 30 I called the both of you Lodge to inquire about their accessibility policies. They told me they had an accessible guestroom that would meet my needs. I reserved the room for the night of September 6 upon arriving, I immediately noticed that there was no automatic doors or automatic door, opener buttons, the doorways were very narrow, and it was hard to get my wheelchair and the luggage in Inside. Once inside, I had to use the washroom, as we had just been travelling on a bus for hours, but I cannot fit my wheelchair in their washroom very easily, as it was not accessible in the least. I managed to get inside with the assistance of my child, but shutting the door was another story. After checking in, I realized that their ‘ Accessible’ room was all the way at the end of the hall tucked into the corner, with a very narrow hallway leading up to the door, which made it impossible for me to get inside without, once again, the assistance of my child. The room itself was a disgrace. Very small and not enough room on either side of the bed to allow a safe transfer. The curtains/windows were beyond my reach. I cannot have any light or fresh air and to add to the discomfort the room was smelt musty, and a faint odour of steel urine . I cannot even open the mini fridge or reach the television. The bed/mattress seemed like just a cheap double bed The bathroom doorways were so narrow. I could barely enter it, and even if I could access it easily, it would MM have been completely unuseable for me. There was not sufficient clearance under the sink for my wheelchair, I cannot get anywhere near the toilet, and there was no accessible bathing option, just a lowered bathtub that again, would have been completely useless to somebody in a wheelchair. If this was not insulting enough, not to mention frustrating, and very disappointing for me and my son, when I went and told the staff at the front desk that I was not able to stay in that room, as it would not be functional for me, put me in a different hotel and charged me a $50 upgrade fee, and they did not even offer to assist me moving to the hotel, which ended up causing Sun and I to miss already paid for attraction. Once I got to the other hotel, I realized I had to pay a $250 security deposit which was $50 more than the other hotel and $50 less I had for my vacation that I spent a great deal of time saving and budgeting for in total, I spent $160 more than I was planning on spending and it severely took a negative tool on our trip and it’s entirety and the ripple affect this caused was extensive. When I got home, I messaged the manager and asked him to make me finish the whole and addressed my concerns about the completed. Disregard for accessibility/safety. He tried to throw $50 at me and tell me that the accessible room works for many of his guests and that he was grateful for my feedback as they strive to achieve accessibil
Had a brilliant week at the Moxy, had thought it was going to be a kind of Travelodge tbh so was blown away...I had a ski lift chair in my room!! Loved the decor and the vibe, the pool, hot tub and the view of the mountains. Shout out to all the staff but in particular, Jamie, the super efficient and fun-filled bar tender and of course Eden who seems to run/manage the entire show; nothing was ever too much trouble and always with a smile - even at 11pm when she was there alone! Moxy, that's dedication -THANK YOU!
This was a very comfortable, well-managed hotel. The staff willingly changed our room when we asked to move from the first floor. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again! Price was high, but going rate in Banff.
TtheshbangA very new hotel on the block as construction next door for their sister hotel is not done but barely noticeable as we’re always out during the day. Beautiful, clean, and spacious rooms and amenities. Really loved the pourover coffee they have in the rooms too. we always just had breakfast at the first floor cafe. Plus, we saw the northern lights from our balcony our first night!
For the price, this place is fine. I will say that it presents slightly different in the photos online than in person but there’s nothing that wrong with the rooms. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are warm in very cold conditions, we felt very safe and the staff are very quick to attend to your needs. A renovation especially in the hallways would be a big improvement, and the shower doesn’t get hot hot - just warm. Overall a decent stay.
EEmilieGreat location! The shower could have been cleaner.
However, the real concern was an unknown person entering our hotel room at 7:30 A.M. My partner and I were unable to fall back asleep after this happening and hotel staff only offered an apology, but no form of compensation. Additionally, parking is scant.
ผผู้เข้าพักOur stay was wonderful w the exception of 2 things:
1: The bedding was super thin (just a sheet and thin blanket) and I froze half the night, wearing my winter coat as a blanket...even w the heat cranked up. For the price, I expected to be comfortable. There were no extra blankets in our 1 bedroom, 2 floor suite.
2: Dogs r allowed at the hotel which I am ok w BUT we were woken up at 6 am by a large dog staying above us who was FREAKING OUT and barking constantly like it was trying to attack something or someone and my 6 year old is TERRIFIED of dogs! We had no choice but to leave our hotel room early in the morning to escape the dog's constant barking and when checking out, didn't even get so much as an apology from the staff when telling them why we were forced out of our room at 6:30am on our 15 year anniversary/my birthday. I wasn't expecting much but we were only there for 1 night and felt a little robbed of our stay and our little girl was traumatized by waking up to dogs that sounded like they were coming through our floor to attack us!!! If u r going to leave your dogs in a hotel alone, ensure they aren't going to freak out the entire time u r gone!!!! A very disappointing stay at our most favorite hotel!!!!
