Aan de Bergen

We have stayed multiple times in Swellendam, but it was our first time at Aan de Bergen and probably the best rest we’ve ever had in this town. Host very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Room was very comfortable and clean.

we had a great time there! The garden with the tables and chairs is very lovely! ghank you very much! Also the kitchen is perfekt. The owner is very sweet and helpfull.

Clean, room with lovely garden and private parking. Golf course around corner as well as business hub.

Our en-suite bedroom was very comfortable and provided all that we needed, both were clean and tidy. The communal kitchen was likewise.

We (husband and I and adult daughter) spent two nights at Aan de Bergen. Our rooms were adjoining on the upper level, which allowed us the extent of the balcony as an extra "room" for eating, reading, chatting and just enjoying the view. The beds were comfortable, though I found our room a wee bit cramped. (Our daughter's room was bigger - should have gone for that one!.) There was a bar fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities in the room, and also the communal use of a kitchen downstairs, so self-catering was possible. We had a very friendly host and housekeeper greet us. Generally, we enjoyed our stay and can recommend Aa de Bergen to other visitors to beautiful Swellendam.

Directions to location via route map failed - technical problem missed a crucial turn. Suggest to add a detailed desription to avoid disappointment. Facilities were comprehensive and view good.

We urgently needed a place to stay in or near Swellendam due to another option for accommodation having fallen through. I was delighted that we found a place at Aan de Bergen Guesthouse. Our hostess was very warm and welcoming, despite out late booking. The room we stayed in was beautiful and clean, as was the en suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the garden beautiful despite the current drought (which I trust will soon pass). I loved watching the birds from our little "stoep". We walked to a nearby shop to buy dinner, which we warmed up in the shared kitchen. We also made use of the shared lounge and dining room. I can highly recommend this place which I consider excellent value for money.

TERRIBLE SERVICE.. rude, arrogant and no care attitude.. no response on emails, i made so many calls that were always just forwarded to a voice message.. eventually my call was returned and i was scolded like a child by the rude person calling themselves the owner.. good luck to you!! I have used this establishment a few times over the years for my touring clients, and it was okay.. i think there is new management or ownership, but i will never put my clients there again, or even stay there myself.. Just terrible no care attitude, rude, and people like this shouldn't be in the hospitability business
