Karma Lake of Menteith Hotel

Had a lovely 4 night stay at karma lake of menteith hotel. Stayed in heritage dog friendly room dog bed and bowls provided. Room was lovely and clean and tidy. Cleaners came in every day. Food was excellent we especially loved the fish and chips and burger. Service excellent nothing too much trouble. Staff so friendly and made you feel like part of the family Billy (dog) loved all the attention and cuddles and treats and tummy tickles from the staff. Fire pit lit outside at night was a lovely touch views over the lake were spectacular. Will reccomend to friends and family. Will return in future

This was our first Karma experience in the United Kingdom. What a location the promotion pictures lived up to what it was all about. Overlooking the only Lake in Scotland, the rest are Lochs, you watch fishermen drift all over the lake fishing for trout. The Lake itself is home to Inchmahone Priory a historic ruin where Mary Queen of Scots once stayed during her many decades of avoiding the wrath of the Queen of England. On the priory island there are also a breeding pair of Osprey. A pretty special place. Our room was outstanding looking of the lake from every aspect. So close to all things Stirling, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, and The Trussochs. We will be back it is a beautiful location just to stay and do nothing or do what we did and use it as a base to see everything in that part of Scotland. It even snowed on our first day.

Nice little hotel in a nice location. Food on site is thoughtfuly prepared, delicious and fresh. Lots of vegan options too. Lovely walks around the area, and not far from Stirling (Visit the Castle!) Friendly staff. Very peaceful and scenic, we would come back again.

Was really looking forward to a return visit, was disappointed . Previously we had experienced a warm welcome this seemed to be missing this time, Nice room overlooking lake ( which is the central charm ofthe hotel) no toiletries in the room, which we have been used to in other venues, only liquid soap. Therre seemed tobe a lack of staff, the same person on duty all the time we were there. Sadly after three visits will not be returning.

Overpriced. Disinterested staff. Mediocre food. They tried to charge service on the bill. An utter disgrace. It was good but not any more. We also ate, the previous evening, at Nick Nairn’s place just a short distance away. The difference is astonishing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were comfortable, clean and staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent; you can help yourself to a choice of various cereals, pastries, fruit and cheeses. The evening meals were delicious too; I would highly recommend the southern fried chicken burger. We really enjoyed eating our meals whilst overlooking the beautiful lake and hillsides. The hotel is ideal for a getaway; only a short drive to Glasgow or Edinburgh and right next to the Trossachs National Park. We will definitely return.

Beautiful location, relaxed atmosphere, staff that go beyond the call of duty. Huge rooms, stunning view of the Lake. My wife and I had a perfect first weekend as a married couple, so thank you for everything!

Firstly the setting is stunning, sitting on the "Lake". The public areas were excellent, relaxing with a great ambience and the food was great. The only downfall, resulting in the reduced value for money and room, is that the bedrooms are in our opinion dated and probably did not merit the price we paid, but the room was just for a bed to sleep and so did not detract from the overall stay. All in all, we went for a relaxing night away and that is exactly what we got.

Great location. Our room was comfortable with a good view over the Lake. The food was very good. Oh dear, the service. The waiting staff are clearly in need of training (e.g. staff would continually walk past tables where people had obviously finished). The waiting time from ordering to being served was painfully long. The staff were very friendly, but with each other. On occasions I had to interrupt them to get a response. With its location and kitchen staff this hotel could quite easily become a good 4*. If only they sorted out the service arrangements.
