Azure Del Mar

This was the absolute worse place I have ever stayed at. It’s being ran today by an unprofessional team of associates, they don’t know what they are doing. This place doesn’t even have a Registration desk, everything is being done at their restaurant bar counter. Most of the rooms DO NOT have AC, they don’t have TV’s, lamps- different color on each nightstand, not plugged in because there’s no plug available close enough… there are NO doors to the bathroom- it’s like in jails that you have seen in the movies. NO hairdryer in the rooms, there’s 1 cheap hairdryer for the entire property. Dirty/dusty floors, no closets/ no hangers. When I asked for some hangers - they brought me some - they were all rusted, dirty and dusty. It took me several attempts to even get password for their WiFi. There is not 1 decent aspect about this place. Beware, there are no railings, I fell and hurt myself badly, my knee and my elbows, nobody even offered to call an ambulance, when I asked for an ice pack - nobody new what I was talking about and eventually gave me a thin plastic bag filled with big chunks of ice …. awful, unsafe, unprofessionally managed- unmanaged, to be exact, dirty, dusty establishment. It needs to be completely shut down, renovated, remodeled, inspected by health department and safety/structural engineering crew before occupancy can be resumed

OWith six cabanasur stay at Azure Del Mar was from 2-2/2-9 and was fantastic! It's the perfect small resort for folks who don't want the all inclusive scene. There are six cabanas and a couple of motel style rooms. The resort is spotless with beach racked daily, 100+ft pier, kayaks and paddle board, lounges and hammoks. Food and drinks can't be beat for breakfast lunch or dinner. Maria and the whole staff are friendly and will help arrange things you'll want to experience. Would recommend the Maya ruins, cave tubing, and inner reef fishing with Capt. Steven at Sea Horse Dive Shop: keep part of your catch for the resort chef and they'll make it for you. Price for the resort is reasonable and the people and service is great! Check their website and give them a call. You won't regret it!

We booked a week at Azure Del Mar to celebrate our anniversary in August - apparently rainy season for Belize! Although we had to cut our stay short as the weather conditions became an issue during our first night, the entire staff was extremely kind and gracious (especially Maria at the front desk). We were welcomed with a personalized sign at the concierge desk and delicious fresh squeezed juice. We had dinner on the outdoor deck of the restaurant, which was great. When we had to checkout early based on the amount of rough weather, the staff was good enough to refund us for the entire stay, including the first night plus our meal and drinks. While the weather made it impossible to finish our reservation, we would absolutely return to see the wonderful staff and enjoy the spectacular accommodations; maybe during the dry season next time! Thanks to everyone at Azure Del Mar who made our (brief) experience a memorable one.

A little paradise, amazing beach, most cabana have sea view, restaurant is very good (and one of the VERY few options in the area). Not noisy at all, and they are all very respectful especially in early mornings and late evenings. Staff is super helpful, airport shuttle, free bicycles, help with motorbike rental. All perfect

I loved this resort and I loved my stay there! Can't wait to go back to soak in the tranquility.

Azure Del Mar is the best thing that has happened to me. The people here are the kindest I have ever met, they have gone above and beyond what I have ever experienced. After loosing my luggage they offered me their personal belongings and a robe to wash my airport clothes, helped me locate my luggage in a different country, picked up my luggage from the airport once it arrived and when my luggage was broken they even offered me a suitcase of their own to continue my travels with. I stayed for a full week and didn’t want to leave. It’s a completely different ballgame when someone addresses you with your first name. I felt extremely safe and welcomed. Upon arrival a found a personal letter and a gift with local products gift wrapped to take home with me. I travelled by myself and I was never alone. There were always kind words, sweet conversations and smiles from everyone. The cabanas are gorgeous, the quality of the hotel is exceptional and as luxurious as can be. Having the ocean right on front of you, toes in the sand with a gorgeous pier is a unique and beautiful experience. Kayaking, stand up paddling and snorkeling is available to all guest which is such a treat. The hotel was always calm and has a one of a kind atmosphere. The restaurant had the view of a lifetime and the food and drinks were absolutely divine!! Overall I can not recommend this exceptional hotel enough, I hope I will be able to return one day and have another dose of this magic. Azure Del Mar is such an amazing place that I don't want to review it as I want to keep it to myself. That being said, this is a wonderful quiet, clean, beautiful, and well kept place with amazing staff. If you are looking for the same you won't want to miss out.

We enjoyed a very relaxing and restful vacation in our very clean, comfortable and safe cabin. The staff was very attentive and accommodating, especially Maria, Nicole and Karen who went above and beyond.

This is our second time back at Azure and I cannot say enough great things! We visited back in January 2023 and now in December. They have made a few fun improvements such as a coffee bar and coffee/tea accommodations in the room. The rooms are well equipped for a few nights and nice enough compared to some of the 4 star resorts we stay in. The staff is too notch and provides fantastic customer service, special shout out to Maria and Junior, both of which are super friendly. Great low key and affordable place to stay in Maya Beach (which IMO is the nicest place on the peninsula)!
