Akrathos Beach Hotel

Unlike other all inclusive places where you can get any drink that you’d want this is not the same!. The pool and tavern bars only give cocktails on a day of the week so I could only have a Pino Colada on a Wednesday (so once during my stay) for example. One lager or white/red and rose available but only at the pool or in the restaurant. Beach only beer or coffee - but not iced coffee? That was €4 extra. Why? When all the staff were walking around drinking them?. Beach is private and has loads of areas to sit with shade. Lack of choice at the beach bar meant most people stayed by the pool. The pool was ice cold - colder than the sea! There is a separate kids pool but being so cold it wasn’t used which means kids are playing next to your sunbed (of which there are a fair few but not enough) or constantly running back and forth, screaming. There was a play area but that was closed? Kids simply didn’t have anywhere to play or swim really. The hotel wasn’t a pick up point for any excursions nor was it well organised with needing to pre-book something as simple as a lift from the beach (it’s all uphill) which was only available at 10am or 1pm. Not enough toilets dotted around. No milk in the room to make a coffee but a shop that sells milk so clearly that’s the plan. The bridge to the beach looks and feels like it could collapse at any moment. Which meant we chose to walk down and up steep hills rather than “risk” the bridge. There is also a main road next to the beach that is busy. For me, this hotel is not an all-inclusive it’s more half-board. It’s not clear what you can’t have until it’s ordered and then you’re told “extra”. I understand branded drinks being more as that’s always the case but the lack of choice and difference in which bar you go to is bizarre. The daily change of only being allowed a choice of two cocktails is also weird. Never been to a hotel that did this as all inclusive at all. There’s no where convenient at all. The food was okay but mainly salad or pasta. Not very Greek! Cheap chunks of chicken thigh and *****s of fatty pork, chunks of beef in weird sauce that is meant to be tomato and garlic. Again, really fatty because it’s the cheap stuff. Soup that wasn’t soup at all more like stock and ever so thin! How hard is it to make soup? Especially when the choices are limited - the biggest table in the restaurant for choice - is full of different dry herbs, oils and salts? Looks like there’s loads but there isn’t. Live cooking is a bit pointless really when it’s only pancakes or frying a little mackerel. Doesn’t really need to be there in my opinion. Staff however, were lovely and really hard working - always friendly. Maybe who ever decides the choices of food and drink should make it better and easier for the customers to understand? Rooms were clean and comfortable except the pillows aren’t comfortable at all we slept without them as they were like hard lumps. We wouldn’t come here again.

The hotel is very good, we were a group from Bulgaria, 8 people. We're proud of Eduardo! Best Manager! We had a problem, we contacted Eduardo , the staff was so quick and solved the problem! I really recommend the hotel with two hands! Everything is so beautiful.

Guys I will be honest with you! Last summer I went with my friend group to this amazing and luxury hotel near the beutiful beach of Halkidiki. The rooms were great and clean. Also the restaurant was clean, the service was friendly and the food was tasty.We visited amouliani island and the other villages near the hotel. If you like playing tennis I have great news for you! Because there is an amazing tennis court. Especially I really want to thank Ms Xenia for her patience and the information that she gave us.Thank you!

Been three times now, never disappoints, me and my family love this hotel as it comes with a massive pool, beautiful rooms and a lovely beach where you can book water activities such as renting a boat or getting dragged along on a water sofa, I recommend coming.

Amazing place nice and clean people are very friendly and they make you feel like home.I can’t wait to go back this summer in august.this is one of the best places were I’ve been,the food is delicious and fresh staff are very friendly people,the swimming pool is amazing they use to clean the pool every night the beach is very close to hotel.

We have just got back from an absolutely fabulous holiday at Akrathos and have all come home saying it has been our best holiday to date. The rooms are lovely, clean with lots of amenities. The pool was amazing, clean and the staff work so hard to keep it that way. Our daughter loved swimming in both the children's pool where she had a bit of freedom because she could stand up and there were plenty of sunbeds around it to watch her and the bigger pool which was nice and deep, perfect for her to swim underwater. The beach is beautiful with an abundance of sunbeds and its so great that you get drinks at the beach bar included. It was an easy 2 minute walk (thats carrying a 5 year old and a newborn!). There was so much variety with the food at all mealtimes. My daughter can be a little picky at times but we easily found her something she loved each mealtime and we really enjoyed the food too especially on greek night and latin night. Most of all it is the wonderful staff who make this holiday so special and the hotel so luxurious. Everyone went out of their way for us, they were extremely friendly and made a really fuss of us and they work so hard. The cleaners, reception, lifeguard and restaurant, kitchen and bar staff are all so lovely and they made a real fuss of our daughters which was wonderful. I also just wanted to say a massive thank you to guest relations and the restaurant manager who helped us arrange a beautiful private breakfast for our parents. It was the highlight of their holiday. We will definitely be coming back again and have come home sad to be leaving but full of so many happy memories.

Just returned from a lovely relaxing week at this hotel. The staff were incredible and went above and beyond to cater to our needs. The setting is utterly beautiful. The pool is fantastic and lots of sun beds available. Same for the beach. Food was very good with variety on offer at each meal time. The deserts were the best we’ve had abroad. The set meal at the taverna was fantastic and very worth the booking. Room was clean, modern and spacious with excellent air con. The nearby town of Ouranopolis was lovely too and we did a fantastic day boat trip to mount Athos then banana beach from there. Only slight negative was drinks. Local spirits were absolutely fine but mixers weren’t branded and lacked fizz and beer and wine were quite weak. Did not stop us drinking them though and still very enjoyable, The cocktails however were fantastic! A thoroughly wonderful holiday and we’d recommend to others!

This hotel is an incredible place for a family vacation, offering delicious food, spacious and clean rooms, as well as an exceptionally courteous and friendly staff. The beach and pool areas are beautifully equipped and furnished. You're sure to have a fantastic experience here!

We visited Akrathos beach hotel for 7 nights wanting a relaxing and chilled holiday and that’s exactly what we got. The location is the real star of the show, with sea views from almost everywhere in the hotel. Although secluded (nearest town is a 7 euro taxi each way) the hotel has its own private beach (with a bar) which is at most a 2 minute walk and a really good pool area with a good amount of sun-beds meaning there was no mad rush and competition of a morning and you can leisurely take your time. The staff there are first class. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. Eduardo the manger was brilliant. He is clearly passionate and took pride in everything he does there and is a credit to the hotel. He made sure both of us felt at home during our stay. The drinks on offer are decent, an alright beer and selection of house wines and spirits as well as 2 cocktails of the day. Only down side was that your branded stuff and premium cocktails were pretty expensive ( 7.5 euro doubles and 10 euro cocktails), however this didn’t phase us too much as we were happy with the all inclusive options. The food was nice. Great salad selection and Greek focused cuisine. The Greek night on Friday and Latin night on Sunday were the best for food. You also get 1 free night at the taverna with a 3 course set menu which is well worth booking into. All of the dining areas overlook the sea which we loved as we got to eat outside every day in a shaded area. There isn’t much entertainment at the hotel, with only 2/3 nights of our stay having something on but in general there is a good atmosphere in the bar area where we watched the sun go down over the sea most evenings. Overall I would highly recommend this place. The staff are amazing and the location is even better. You will never get tired of the views and scenery. The hotel is well deserving of its 4 stars and we will hopefully come back in the future. Thanks to Eduardo and the team for a wonderful holiday.
