Premier Inn Hayle

I haven’t used Premier Inns for years and always been an advocate of the brand. But this last couple of months I’ve been using the ones in Cornwall. They’re awful, as far as very dated compared to others. And a tip; take a pair of grips to remove the stupid water saving tap fittings that spray water over the bathroom as opposed to in the sink like a normal tap. It’s as if some woke teenagers have started working at Premier Inn with an ambition to tick all the eco-boxes, by putting stupid adapters on the taps to stop people from using the water, cutting the bulbs above the mirrors in the bathrooms and cutting back wherever possible to make Premier Inn’s almost at the reduced level of a Travel Lodge. Very disappointed.

This Premier Inn has gone downhill over past few years (we have used it a lot) and we feel they think they might have a captive audience and don’t need to update/improve?

Check in was easy and pleasant and the room was clean and tidy and comfortable. Our only criticism was the restaurant for the meals. The food was great but was let down by the very slow service. There was approx 30 minutes between the starter and main and when we ordered ice cream for dessert it took 40 minutes to come. I had to go and ask where it was after 30 minutes and also had to double up on drinks because it was so slow ordering. They said they were busy but I saw staff stood around talking between themselves while customers were kept waiting

Room had an odour of mold, temp 25* couldn’t turn the heating down. Boy racers outside the window in the car park made loads of noise at night, had to have the fan and windows open because of heat! Bathroom rusty soap dispenser and mold on the walls. No pillowcase on pillow. Felt run down and unkempt and not as good as other prem inn’s we’ve been in!

Absolutely amazing experience! The hotel is an old type however the service is first class! Everyone was so kind and professional! Thank you for this amazing time! Plus points are the free parking (with plenty of places, that is so rare in Cornwall!) The next door Mcdonald's and Lidl for groceries!

Staff are always so friendly & accommodating every time we stay. Greet us with a nice warm welcome. Rooms are clean, bed super comfy and breakfast is yummy too. We look forward to our next stay in Hayle.

Hotel is clean and has plenty of Parking but is starting to look a little shabby. The Road outside is used by the locals in their Corsas and they hang out in the Mcdonalds in front of the Hotel. The food next door is Awful and horrifically over priced. Your better off heading into St Ives or just about anywhere else for dinner. The Breakfast is standard Premier Inn Dry Fried Eggs soggy bacon and you help yourself to as much or as little as you can stomach. I would say your better off with the Continental Breakfast, Cereals and Fruits ect with unlimited toast. Best thing about this hotel is its just a few mins drive from probably one of the best unspoilt Beaches in Cornwall.

the room itself was lovely. very comfortable and relaxing, with nice views, despite being right next to a main road. it was also very quiet. the room is well equipped. tea and coffee supplies are minimal, but you can help yourself to more at the front desk any time you choose. the wifi is included, and easy to get online, but no details are given, so you have to figure it out yourself. it's right next door to a Brewers Faire, providing cheap and cheerful pub grub, which is pleasant and relaxing enough, but often has issues with staffing levels. I had a lovely, hot bath. the hair and body wash pump on the wall is hard to use while in the bath. the wash itself is nice enough, and has a pleasant, unisex scent. the only real disappointment was how disinterested the front desk staff were in the fact that some of the things we bought from the vending machine got stuck. we were told to give the machine a shake, and when that didn't work, it was suggested we go over to the petrol station because "you'll definitely get it then" we asked if there was any way to get either the product or a refund (the prices were quite high, for the convenience of being right there) and were told to try asking in the morning. tried another item that also got stuck, but did come out with a shake. in the morning, there was nobody at the front desk. and there were several more stuck items in the vending machine, all on a shelf that obviously hadn't been put back in the right position, and was obstructing things from dropping.

I have stayed at this premier inn many times, I always find the staff pleasant and personable, this time my experience was no different. A great base for getting out and about, beach walks and shops near by
