Palette - Solar Residency

My first night there I was awoken with the call to prayer. It was a soul shattering experience and woke me from deep sleep at 5am. The windows had been left open by house keeping and I was unaware, because there were double windows with the inner one being a screen. There were no blinds of any kind, only heavy curtains, so to keep the blazing sun out, they had to remain shut all day. The AC didn't work until housekeeping did some jiggery-pokery and as soon as I left the room and turned off the power, it reset. Coffee was non-existent anywhere except for Nescafe graduals. The room door had a 2" gap under it and it. I mean, the room wasn't bad bad, but it wasn't worth the money. Kashmir is reputed to have a "white tax" and I certainly witnessed it. The hotel doesn't seem to have any taxis available and Uber is not running in Srinagar, so tuck-tuks are the only mode of transport available. Always ask the price first and barter down if possible. The final insult was the claim that none of 3 credit cards worked, requiring me to use cash. More like they didn't want to pay international credit card fees. My recommendation is that if you aren't Indian, this probably isn't a good choice for Srinagar.

The staff service provided by hotel is very good. We are staying in this hotel for the past two days and enjoyed nice hospitality and beautiful ambience. Felt like staying at home. Everything from rooms, lobby, restaurant and food is great.

This is not a 4* hotel. It has very bad bathrooms, no toiletries, badly lit rooms, dirty linen and bad TV sound. No authorized agency gave them 4* rating. This hotel is not senior citizen friendly. No anti skid mat and support bars in the bathroom. No escape root chart in room or fire safety instructions in lift. We had bad experience. Please be careful before selecting this hotel.

Ours was a four day stay in this hotel. The Hotel is not worth the price it is charging and neither it is equivalent to a 4 star category hotel. They are not giving the soap, towel and other accessories in the bathroom unless asked for. The linen bed sheet etc were dirty (already used) for which we had to fight with the ***agement and then it was changed the next day. The towels given were also dirty. The food was ordinary without any variety and service was bad. However, the room size is big but there is no view outside. No garden to sit, no activity like GYM, Billiards etc etc.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel 12-16 April, 24, as a part of a group trip to Kashmir. Though we paid for four-star accommodation, the hotel turned out to be a less than two-star category, as far as the room (particularly the toilet), facilities, service, attendance, buffet breakfast and dinner spreads are concerned - on all counts. The trip operator responded that they found this to be a four-star hotel from Trip Advisor. This is just betraying your customers. We are thoroughly disappointed and dejected. I do not think I shall give any value to your rating in the future while setting up my own travel plans, that I have done ***y times in the past.

This is. a budget hotel and certainly not a 4 star.. The hotel does not qualify for even a 2 star rating. The pictures shown must be very old . Toilets are not sanitised , very small in size , not even equipped with basics like shower gel. We had to buy our own. Food is pathetic , totally stereo menu with no servicing staff available. The staff is arrogant and not helping type at all. We stayed for 4 days and the same menu was served all days. In my opinion it's an avoidable hotel . TripAdvisor is requested to look into the disparity between earlier reviews and ground reality . We depend a lot on TripAdvisor while choosing a property.

Hotel Not worth Rs 10000..... one should go only if offered @Rs 2500/-....... This is not a 4 star property and only like Hostel/Dharamshala. The service and food was below standard. The linens etc were not changed by the hotel till we complained to them.

Hotel solar residency is very good. The wifi signal was very strong as compared to other hotels we stayed. Had extremely great time while staying in this hotel. The rooms and washrooms were clean and nicely decorated. The staff service was great especially in restaurant. The location is also good.
