We booked a 2 night stay at this hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay right in the historic heart of Rouen. We opted for a standard room, and requested a room overlooking the internal courtyard, as we had heard these were the best rooms. We were not disappointed and the hotel lived up to expectations. The room, although small, was comfy, quiet and well equipped with a sizeable king size bed, soft fluffy pillows (more brought promptly on request), a desk area with nespresso machine and a hospitality tray, a small wardrobe with safe, iron and ironing board. The adjoining bathroom had a large shower with double heads and an efficient heated towel rail, with plenty of towels, and robes etc, as well as nice toiletries to use including shampoo, body wash, conditioner and moisturiser. We had booked valet parking, but on arrival at the hotel we struggled to find the entrance, despite having been sent directions, so we called the hotel and the concierge guided us in. We were then helped with our luggage and our car was parked for us. despite this costing 27 euros for 24 hours, it was well worth it as I don't know where we would have parked otherwise, and it meant convenience, peace of mind and security for our vehicle. The hotel is a beautiful building, sympathetically created from a historic masterpiece, to accommodate the workings of a hotel, even including a wonderful pool and spa. We enjoyed our time using the facilities and made the most of the gym, pool, hammam and sauna over the weekend. Staff were helpful, polite, friendly and very accommodating to all our requests, even granting a late check out on departure, having asked the night before - it was arranged seamlessly for us. We especially liked - the wonderful buffet breakfast with excellent selection of fresh fruit, hot cooked items, cold meats, cheese and youghurts etc, and bread and pastries with local jams and honey. - the refillable chilled water bottle provided in the room which could be filled with cold, still and sparkling water - the wonderful pool, hamman and spa - the location which was right in the historic centre - the staff who were all helpful and polite and spoke excellent English. Small areas for improvement - the air conditioning in the room didn't seem particularly efficient, even when turned to high. - the one lift is terribly slow: mostly we gave up and used the stairs
Bbruce wWe very much enjoyed our short stay here, our room was just right, well cleaned each day and with a good bed. The staff were lovely, we got lots of interesting tourist information from the front desk and some top notch cocktail and wine service from the bar. The hotel is well located, very near to a long stay car park and a short walk from the town centre, we didn't try the restaurant but the breakfast was a good standard and the general over all feel of the hotel is very cosy and welcoming.
We had an overnight stay after a long drive from Switzerland. Parking available under the hotel. Refreshing swim in the pool. The restaurant and food were formidable. The staff were friendly, polite young people and were happy and egar to help. The panacota desert was off the scale. Would most certainly return hear.
This is our second visit to this hotel which overlooks the Seine river. It's by a fairly busy road but you wouldn't know it as the windows make it very quiet. We booked a family room and it was very well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Ours had a microwave, mini fridge, kettle, nespresso and safe. We parked our car as the parking is secure and underground. We then went to.look around Rouen seeing the beautiful cathedral, the large clock and some Monet paintings at the Musee Des Beaux Arts. We then went out to eat on the quayside in one of the buzzy bar restaurants.
RRoving05563985483We selected this hotel for it's central location and secure car park and it didn't let us down. It sits on a site with a Mercure Hotel which has advantages and disadvantages. The car park is huge, don't feel the need to grab the first place you see, it really does carry on forever. The car park lift will then deposit you in the Mercure where you check in. You will need to remember that lift as if you forget and try to get back to the car park in one of the other Mercure lifts you will find yourself in their conference suites! Breakfast and dinner are served in the Mercure and are excellent. We found all the staff very friendly and as we were there on one of the nights that England were playing in the Euros we were able to enjoy the match on a large screen that had been set up. Whilst having access to all the Mercure facilities was wonderful it does leave the Ibis somewhat lacking. The reception area resembles a storage area. The rooms however are comfortable, the bathroom in our room looked like a pod that had been created elsewhere and dropped into the room but whilst small it was functional. The air conditioning worked well and we had two very comfortable nights.
Excellent value for the money. The hotel is very simple and basic, but clean, comfortable, exceptionally well-located within a couple blocks of the Cathedrale, Seine River, Flixbus station, metro, city bus, free Cy’clic public bike station, in the heart of the city center, with markets, bars, restaurants, and a huge variety of shops all around. The couple managing the hotel live onsite and are exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is a simple daily 5€ breakfast bar option with a variety of croissants and rolls, automated custom coffee machine with many options, yogurt, selection of fruit juices, and condiments. Our room had a pretty view of the cathedral and large windows that open fully. The bathroom is tiny, but adequate and clean. Contemporary, clean simple room had one double bed, one twin bed, and a small desk with chair, adequate for 2-3 persons, with little space for luggage. There were 2 electric outlets on opposite sides of the room, a small television, and readings lamps at the large bed. The hotel lacks an elevator. The upper floor hallway floorcoverings and lighting need work. But the lobby, dining area, and the rooms themselves are entirely agreeable. For the location and price, on a busy festival weekend, we got exceptional value.
