Keppels Head Hotel

Best described as a quirky hotel. Rooms were ok; definitely three star.Clean but not for you if you're looking for modern up to date decor or amenities. No iron, hairdryer or mini bar in the rooms. Excellent Japanese food served in dining room or there's a more traditional menu.

Housekeeping for our room was mediocre, otherwise all good. Would stay again.

If you can't find a place to stay, it's a place you can choose. All the hotels in the area were almost full, so we had to stay in the center. Moreover, we stayed more expensive than the normal price. You can spend the night as comfortably as sleeping on a bench outside. The bed is very uncomfortable. We asked for a double bed, they put two single beds together and gave it as a double bed. It's extremely uncomfortable. We booked a 2-night stay, the room cleaning service didn't come the next day, cleaning was forgotten. All the employees are extremely rude, nothing you say or request is fulfilled. Only Mrs. Tina was cheerful. The breakfast was very bad, if you are staying, definitely don't get the breakfast. I've never seen such a terrible breakfast. Apart from all these, there is a Blue Light Card discount, they said no even though I asked. They acted as if they didn't know even though we kept asking. They almost hung up on us even though we called again and talked to the manager. They don't care about customer satisfaction at all. I've stayed in almost many countries, and it's a terrible place compared to its price. I called them before commenting here, but nothing was done for customer satisfaction. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's in the center like ours. Go a little further and take a taxi, you'll be happier. Moreover, this city is known for its peace and smiling faces. I don't know how this hotel managed to collect so many bad features. It doesn't suit the city of the sea and sailors at all.

Bed Room Basic for the money? view nice tho, but window looks dirty and condensation shower was like a sprinkler definitely not a power shower!!! Number 10 it is clean tho bed beds very small for 5’10 girl body wash and shampoo take your own towels clean breakfast was under cooked sausage like boiled not fried, the same with the rest very disappointed to find black hair that put me right off!! .

A very nice hotel with a excellent spacious room,and comfortable beds, with view towards Portsmouth Harbour. The hotel has a very nice bar next to the reception. To this we can add a nice English breakfast in a beautiful old style breakfast room. This hotel with its friendly staff is definitely a place I can highly recommend.

Located opposite the station and a few minutes walk from Gunwharf Quays. If you want luxury, look elsewhere. It's very quaint, though it could do with a little refurb. Lovely room with a beautiful bathroom. Definitely worth a stay though..

Horrendous. On arrival, we stood at reception whilst the receptionist ruffled with papers on the very cluttered reception desk, and eventually deigned to look up. Our room was on the front, a triple bed arrangement. Furniture was cheap, damaged, and very poor. Carpet had clumps of hair over it. Windows were dirty from where people had pressed faces and hands to them. Bed was very uncomfortable, with just a sheet over the mattress protector and no under sheet. The breakfast was a joke. Anemic bacon, no croissants or pastries as per the menu, a sparse offering of cereals and a basket of fruit. This place is over priced, very poorly presented and simply not worth even thinking about staying at. Utterly dire and depressing.
