Have book for an overnight stay as attending a conference the following day. So have requested on my booking and also email directly the reservations of Mantra South Brisbane to request a quiet room and away from the lift. This was acknowledged by the reservations via email .
Day of check in, I even ask the reception after giving the key if the room assigned to me is quiet and away from elevator , and he state it is. But surprised upon reaching the floor, out the elevator , room is directly opposite. Had to go down the reception and request a change of room, and even told them I had requested this weeks ago. How disappointing that they disregard my request , waste of time contacting reservations after all.
Also then was informed by housekeeping staff when we have issue controlling the room temperature that it is under maintenance , so no way to control it at all.
So wasn’t happy with my stay , would think twice of booking this hotel again

Check in with very helpful staff member. Room spacious with comfy beds and bedding. Location is perfect right in heart of Southbank with cafes and restaurants everywhere. Double glazing on windows kept out train noise pretty . (Train line runs near hotel) and despite central location the rooms are very quiet. The rooms could do with a refresh as some furniture is a bit scuffed and shabby but did not interfere in comfort of our stay.

The hotel is dirty and run down. While the staff are friendly enough, they are not helpful at all. The whole vibe of the hotel is drab, outdated and dreary.
No flexibility in anything! I asked to have avocado on sourdough instead of rye and was advised that that was not possible! Seriously?
Rooms and particular the bathroom felt grimy and the bed is not comfortable.
No water available for late check in, don’t even both requesting an extra towel.
I travel weekly for work and have not had a hotel stay this bad in many years.

Room was clean, spacious and great outlook overlooking Brisbane CBD. Convenient and easy walk to QPAC, Southbank, transport and dining options. Would stay there again.

Park 400 metrrs away at the convention center. It was clean, quiet. Staff helpful on check in. Definitely would stay again. It has a gym, pool and hot tub too but did not use.

Room wasn’t what I thought I had booked. Staff were polite and approachable. Room was clean. Would stay again but make sure I know what I’m getting.

Location, staff and public areas of the hotel are great. The room was old and tired. Bathrooms need regrouting or upgrade. Also smelled a bit musty.

On entering the apartment at the Mantra on Southbank we were greeted with a non-functioning microwave, a dryer whose cover fell off, a tap handle which fell off and some previous clothing in the dryer from a previous guest. We even found a pair of socks under the bedroom blinds at the end of our stay.
When we discussed these issues with the staff Kent was extremely helpful and supportive, immediately offering a new room in the floor below. He was excellent and one of the high points of our stay apart from where the apartment was located.
We felt that the rooms could have been looked after much better in terms of their cleanliness, while maintenance was excellent and very helpful when required.
We will be seriously considering where we stay when next in Brisbane.
