Hotel Del Corso

We were disappointed. The hotel's location is good, but on a pedestrian street so you have to walk with luggage to get there since you cannot be dropped off in front. Not a bad walk unless you have a lot of luggage or must leave in the midst of a torrential rainstorm as we did. There is a lovely terrace where breakfast is served and where you can sit in the evenings. The bathroom grew moldy during our stay and housekeeping did not address it. You had to keep the bathroom door open and fan on to keep it from getting worse, yet the smell was unpleasant and the fan was noisy. The staff (owners?) were not particularly friendly and were downright rude on one or two occasions. We had a bottle of champagne left in our room with glasses from our travel agent. The evening we drank the champagne, we were yelled at when we placed the used glasses on the bar for not asking permission to use the glasses. We tried to explain that they were the glasses left in our room, but it didn't seem to make a difference. We visited at the end of a very busy season and I am sure they were tired of tourists, but yelling at guests is not appropriate.

What a beautiful place to stay in Sorrento! We visited during the off-season, which perhaps made everything more enjoyable, but undoubtedly, the service is unparalleled. We were given a free upgrade to a spectacular room, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The location is ideal: just steps away from Sorrento's most central corner. The room is spacious, quite modern for the area, and the bathroom is very nice. We hope to return soon!

The hotel room was austere, like what I imaging a monk would have, and that's OK. It was incredibly clean, I think yo could safely eat off the floor. The shower leaked all over the floor forcing us to get new towels daily. The problem was the noise. We stayed in one of the rooms that was off an open porch. The first night we were so tired we heard nothing, the second night, the music stopped at 10. The third night the music and people yelling were so loud that I could feel the bass in my chest. And it went on until midnight. I don't know where the noise came from, somewhere on the street. If you stay here, make sure you get an interior room. The rating is one star because of the noise, but it was 5 stars for everything else so it's too bad.

Centrally located to bus train and ferry. Excellent restaurants near and very comfortable hotel to stay on. Continental brekki was excellent. Would recommend for a three day break away. Sorrento has a lot to offer so go enjoy

It couldn’t be a better location. There’s an elevator to get from the ground floor (0) to Reception (2). That’s merciful. There was no elevator to my room’s floor. The staff were always positive and friendly.

Hotel Del Corso is family-owned and their pride shows in everything they do, from the quality of the rooms and air conditioners to the washer/dryer they provide for their guests. The location was absolutely the best location, as it was central to everything! Our stay was wonderful and we’ll look forward to coming back on our next visit to Sorrento!

The room was basic and not very clean. Guests are INSTRUCTED by staff where to sit for breakfast, even which door to use to enter the eating area. The manager was arrogant, rude and dismissive of guests. I will never stay here again. The only plus is it's position on the main street.

A very basic hotel room. The location is the best. Some of the rooms have a bad location, next to the kitchen very noisy or in the basement, very dark. We ate only once at the breakfast as the selection wasn’t that great. We would go out to eat breakfast. Lots of great restaurants in the area and shopping. People at the front desk were very nice.

We had a comfort room which was spacious and clean. The bathroom was larger than in many Italian hotels. The staff at the desk was friendly and helpful, the hotel can provide beach towels, The breakfast was pretty typical for Italy although the coffee comes from a self-service machine. They have a self-service laundry machine with built-in soap, which to me tips the choice to this hotel over similar ones without laundry. The location is convenient, a few dozen yards into the pedestrian only Corso Italia main street. The air conditioning worked great, although in the morning when they maid comes she will turn it off so the room might be quite warm by the time you get home in the afternoon. The room came with a couch and a basic.The drawback is that although there was plenty of space in the room, there wasn't a lot of shelving. They have a place to hang shirts and so on and had two web stands for luggage but no desk to write on while planning out your day and no shelving to put items. Many hotels we've seen provide shelving of some sort because otherwise you need to dig through your bag to get anything. CAUTION: they pre-charge one nite before you arrive, the remainder at check-in. Be sure to insist you be charged in euros. All across Italy we were charged us in euros so when they asked us to pay we didn't think to say anything. The guy typed some things into a credit card terminal and pushed it across the desk, we tapped our card, done. We never selected or approved anything. Later, when we looked at the printed receipt we saw we had been charged a 3% convenience fee for being charged in dollars instead of euros. And the receipt claimed we were offered a choice of currencies to pay in. That did NOT happen. On a stay of a few days which is hundreds of euros it's not a trivial amount.
