Nice room, large, clean, balcony. Lovely bathroom Limited view to the ocean. WiFi too slow for Netflix or teams/zoom meeting. As an IT-manager we measured the speed and it was not sufficient. Smoking is permitted on your terrace or balcony. So if you don’t smoke, you have a problem and have to sit inside. Any comments are not appreciated by the management and will be answered with ‘rewrite your review or we’ll make sure you’ll be blacklisted at Booking and any other hotel/b&b in the area’. Ridiculous! Comments are meant to help future guests and the management for improvement.

We had a wonderful stay at Southern cross guesthouse in Sommerset. We had a nice room( suite upstairs). It is calm and safe. The location is perfect to explore the wine region near Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and day trip to Hermanus. The Hosts are communicative, very helpful und friendly. They speaks german , too. They give suggestions where to go and give recommendations for restaurants. We will come again ! Many thanks Claudia and Marc.

This is a gorgeous place. It was comfortable, the atmosphere was cheerful, we were given a great breakfast with a full range of options both in a buffet and to order, it was tranquil in a residential location with distant sea views, easy access to places around.

Had a lovely stay, comfortable bed, big room with stunning views. Breakfast was delicious. Very attentive hosts and friendly staff. Would have been good to have blockout curtains so one could sleep in much longer. Asides that, everything was perfect.

The hosts were absolutely amazing. The property was well kept, very clean and we felt safe. We had an upstairs and downstairs bathroom with constant hot water. Breakfast was wonderful.
We were really happy and would love to return.

Lovely comfy stylish Guest house that has everything anyone needs for a short stay. Attention to every little detail. Tasty breakfast. Excellent services overall. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back again.

Everything is perfect at this jewel of a guesthouse, thanks to Mark and Claudia your friendly hosts who give a personal touch to your stay. We enjoyed the perfect location (close to the main road between Strand and Stellenbosch), midway between the main attractions. Clean, very comfortable, secure, quiet and peacefull. The vibe at the pool makes for such a relaxing chill at the communal outdoor area, or on the sun deck. Breakfast was excellent, and they would even seat you outside. We really had a great time as a family at Southern Cross!!

I spent 4 nights at this wonderful guesthouse. I received excellent accommodation, scrumptious breakfasts & friendly service. I loved the honesty bar too! Well done Marc and Claudia. I will certainly stay here again when in the area next.
