Premier Inn Solihull (Hockley Heath, M42)

Hotel has become tired since previous visit. Dangerous Pot Hole upon arrival in car park requires urgent repair. Breakfast was shocking. Crispy bacon was cremated and No fresh Orange Juice. Lack of topping up of the essentials on the buffet station.

We were woken at 0815 by the most horrendous crashing and banging from the room(s) directly above and it didn't stop. The walls of our room were liteally shaking. It turns out they were starting renovation work, but we hadn't been told. A colleague who checked in shortly after we did was told abot then work and given a room in a different part of the hotel, where it was quieter, but no such consideration for us. Be very careful if you're planning a stay. Ask when the work is expcted to finish. We mentioned the hellish din to reception, but the response was really just a shrug of the shoulders and a "you should have received an email about it". I've checked... and we didn't.

We stayed here for 3 weeks and we couldn't have asked for a more welcoming place. On our arrival, Adam helped us to unload a large number of heavy items from our car During our stay we had to move to another room and again, he and two others willingly offered to transfer everything. All of the staff were incredibly thoughtful and made a huge difference to what could have been a very stressful time. The hotel is in an excellent location and is currently undergoing refurbishment which should make it an ideal place to stay and , from our experience, w would thoroughly recommend it.

I stay in a lot of Premier Inns and the quality is definitely variable. This is the BEST one I’ve stayed at yet (and, completely coincidentally, the cheapest at £35). From Kasim on the front desk (could not have helped more) to the excellent staff in the Beefeater pub attached who were kind and friendly. Top marks all round!

If you are dependant / expectant on free Wifi then here is not the place for you. If Wifi is not a consideration then it provides what would be expected of a Premier Inn. It’s location provides easy access to the M42 and is but 8 miles from NEC.

We were staying 1 night to have an early start for a power lifting competition the next morning and this hotel was convenient to get to the venue by 7am. The person on the desk was very welcoming and efficient and sorted out the slight mix up with the single beds initially set as a double. Overall a very good experience and would recommend.

Arrived at the hotel and nearly took the front end off the car due to the holes in the drive… but there was plenty of parking. The reception staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. The room itself was very dated for a premier inn. The room was over 24c and was unable to turn down the heating, so had to open a window to cool. The room itself was meh! Only 1 bed side table, which looked like it was from a car boot, and only 1 plug right by the floor. The bathroom, although very clean was also very dated. Chips in the bath and only 1 towel, which was very quickly sorted when I went and asked for another. Apart from that, we did sleep very well, and the breakfast was good. Lorraine was doing the breakfast service, she was lovely and friendly, a credit to the premier team (as were all of the staff but sadly didn’t get their names). I would stay here again, but it would be nice if a little money was spent bringing it up to date and the Good standard I like at a premier inn.

This premiere inn sits in a great location with easy access to the M42 motorway, the rooms are adequate and the beds are amazingly comfortable, my only downside is the wi-fi can be a bit hit and miss sometimes

We stayed here for 1 night as we were going to Crufts at the NEC for 2 nights. The location was great and easy to get to but the best bit was the helpful staff and well equipped rooms. On check-in the manager, who happened to be on reception, was really helpful and explained the meal deals available in the restaurant and was happy to answer all our questions and was generally very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!
