Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya All Inclusive - Adults Only

Service and food were excellent. The property was spotless. The only problem we had was they put us in a building with construction noise and we asked to move, which we did. Also, the rooms are very automated, and the air conditioning sensor didn't work properly. Otherwise, everything was excellent. Food was great and had no problems getting a table. They do close one restaurant each night, so make sure you find out which ones are closed during your stay. Also, we loved the piano bar with the specialty drinks, but the piano was extremely out of tune. It sounded like a cheap saloon in a western movie. Sad considering the piano player was very good. Overall we would go back again and probably will.

Our stay was beautiful, I will not deny that. However it was not without a few letdowns. I am a woman who is all about a pool and was so excited to swim in the absolutely gorgeous pool I saw in all the photos online. I visited the week of Jan 1- Jan 7th and the weather was quite warm about 75 degrees every day. HOWEVER, the pool was absolutely FREEZING to the point where I was shivering being in it. Felt like an ICE BATH :( It was not enjoyable and with this being a secluded/ all inclusive hotel there weren't very much other forms of entertainment during the day except for the pool and the beach (the water was warm at the beach). It was so disappointing. I called the front desk to ask if anything could be done but they stated was no pool heater/temperature adjuster. We paid about 4 grand total for this trip and to be completely honest were only able to enjoy the pool once. My next complaint comes to the beach. We went to the beach which gets pretty bus. There was a day where every single chair was full and two of the hotel cabanas were being taken over by random street vendors - taking away two spots for the guests from the 100% packed beach area. These guys were NOT a part of the hotel and are the vendors who go around trying to sell cigars, etc. I watched the staff pass by them multiple times and say nothing while ACTUAL GUESTS had nowhere to lounge by the beach. That was very disappointing as these guys were laughing loudly, staring at guests, and did not move as people walked by looking for chairs. Other than that I will admit that the food was great, the staff was super nice, the hotel grounds were IMPECCABLE, the rooms were nice, everything else was quite lovely. But for the reasons listed I will not be staying at this all inclusive again, although you can still make the most of it and have a lovely experience overall. I'd recommend a stay if you're not going for the main reason of enjoying the pool and the beach.

The staff is very professional, very friendly & helpful. Service was exceptional. The rooms, restaraunts, pools, spa, bars & beach were all great. Exceeded our expectations & we'll definitely be going back in the future.

A place where we feel pampered and loved. The staff are all very attentive to our needs and fast in delivering their services. 7 different-themed restaurants with great food and good NIghtly music. Room accommodation is spacious and has that romantic atmosphere.

We enjoyed the restaurants, servers, bartenders, house keepers, pools and the overall layout. We were in bldg 4 right by the main pool and convenient to the bars, cofffee shop & restaurants. The bldg is in need of updating. I’d sugggest the rooms by the lazy river. They are newer. I’d say the alcohol although all inclusive just doesn’t taste right. But that’s probably Mexico resorts in general. This is a good deal for the money. Oh forgot the 7 restaurants are a variety - Asian, Mexican, Japanese, French, Steak & Seafood.. nice variety & overall tasty.

The property itself is very nice and the room was spacious. My only complaint is the food. Each restaurant, the hostess asked about allergies or intolerances, marked it on a slip of paper, highlighted it and put it on our table. Only the servers and the beach restaurant looked at it, they others did not. I am gluten intolerant and the reviews I read was that the Valentin marked everything in the buffet as to what contained gluten. They did not. I asked the buffet staff if they could help me navigate and they told me to see the server. The server took me around and pointed out several things that they thought were gluten free, none of them had the x for no gluten. I could not rely on this information. I had an omelet everyday. Let me say the buffet was filled with breads and sweets, sandwiches. There was not gluten free bread as read would be available. The themed restaurants had a few options, mostly salmon and fish. The salmon at the Japanese restaurant was served with carrots that were raw, not cooked at all. Very disappointed, expected much more. But I must say the resort is beautiful and if there is an improvement I would gladly return. A gluten free menu would be really nice as they do in Canada and USA

AC in the room wasn’t cold. Rooms are average with not much of a view other than trees and greenery. Shower water didn’t get real hot. Ordered room service twice, once we received food in a timely manner second time we waited twice as long as quoted and had to call back. Reservations were supposed to come with ******* VIP status with reservations at the restaurants included and no one seemed to know about it or honor it. There is a long wait for dinner and no option of a buffet. Great staff was hard to come by. Ariel at the pool is amazing but he was the only one I’d rate at a 10. Some staff were unfriendly and acted like they didn’t want to be there. Breakfast buffet service was horrible and food was often cold. Dinner was good, some restaurants were great. Taco truck at the pool was good and the churro cart at night was amazing. Entertainment was average. The beach was long and wide with plenty of chairs, little seaweed but steep to get in and rocky at the beginning. In my opinion it didn’t live up to the hype.

The hotel was beautiful but there were too many guests and they didn't have enough seats for everyone. Not enough seat on the beach or the pool area. People just put the beach towels on the chairs to reserve it and it's very hard to find any spot that available. Most of activities are around the main pool since we couldn't find the seats there we didn't join them :( The room is nice but it was disappointed because of the 2 double beds that cant put together. It's weird that we come as couple to celebrate our first trip together but they gave us 2 beds or we have to pay $300 more a night to upgrade to the room that has 1 king bed. Oh the food was great but again, there were too many guests in every restaurants. Doesn't matter when we get there, there were 1 hr wait. Oh you cant make reservations unless you are vip or buy vip packages. Im an ******* vip I can make reservations but I can't do on the app or by phone, you have to show up in specific building in person to make reservation. They will give you a paper for you to give to the restaurant. Some restaurants is very popular, they opened the reservation at 10am by 10:18am they were fully booked for that day. It was too crowded One more thing, one of their pool has something blocked the sidewalk every 5 steps, my partner accidentally kick on it and broke his toenail, bleeding. The staff came to help witht he first aid and said it happened often. It is unsafe to have thing like that
