We had a family holiday with our two grown up children , first time in years .we all liked the hotel , the staff all very helpful and friendly , the rooms were clean. The showers were amazing in both rooms Breakfast very basic , but fine for us . They re filled the bathroom bottles , which I think every hotel should do ( they were lovely bottles ) of shampoo / conditioner etc rather than horrible one use plastic ones , Over all we liked our stay there We had an evening tapas diner there The restaurant may not be the prettiest but very Spanish and really nice food

Well located in a “ local’s” area of the city - approximately 10 -15 minutes walk from the Cathedral and about 5 minutes from Hércules Square where lots of tapas bars located . quirky hotel - amazing plasterwork on our ceiling - very clean and very helpful front desk and breakfast staff very engaging. Would recommend.

Alcoba del Rey is a lovely hotel in the Macarena area of Seville. We booked the Zyriab room for our honeymoon and it was beautiful and very spacious. Unfortunately the hotel had a problem with the boiler so we had no hot water in the room for the 1st 2 days. They did offer us the possibility to stay in a flat in the centre, but since we had specifically booked the room for the jacuzzi and decor we decided to stay in the room. To be honest, we would have appreciated some form of compensation although they did offer us breakfast when we arrived. When we were eventually able to use the jacuzzi, it took about an hour to fill. The staff are lovely and helpful and the decor is charming. There is also a roof terrace, which must be perfect in warm weather. To be honest the breakfast buffet was rather disappointing and not really up to the standard of the hotel. However, the restaurant next door is very good. Despite our unlucky experience, we probably would stay here again.

This is the third or fourth time we have visited this hotel, always our first choice in Sevilla. The rooms and all the decor is beautiful, really calming and characterful, reflecting the great and complex marriage of North African and European Cultures that Al Andalus celebrated at its best. Easy walks to great local restaurants (esp ConTenedor) and a half hour stroll to the Cathedral, with the spectacular Basilica de la Carmen right next door to the hotel also. The staff are quite exceptionally helpful, nothing too much trouble, booked restaurants for us very helpful and answered loads of questions. English good if you don't speak Spanish. The proximity of the delightful restaurant Rincon de Rosita, and its always friendly host, is an additional benefit, and serves v good breakfasts. There is an roof terrace with good views also. While we were there this time, there was a breakdown of the hot water supply, but the staff immediately offered us transfers to luxury apar**ents in the centre, or alternatively access to showers in v nearby apar**ents. And I think the real test of a great hotel is how they handle things when something goes wrong, and they were brilliant on this occasion.

Such a lovely hotel with the friendliest, most helpful staff you could ask for. We loved our room which faced the front of the hotel. Breakfast is in the bar next door - good selection and super-friendly once again. It’s a nice walk into the centre - not too far, bars along the way, all very easy. We had a fabulous time, many thanks to the lovely staff for making us feel so welcome.

What a lovely hotel! The decoration of the hotel was beautiful as were the rooms. Beds were very comfortable and although there was a busy road outside, the double glazed windows blocked out most of the noise. Although it was a little distant from the main part of Seville, the hotel was on a main bus route so it was easy to navigate around.

I was a guest for only one night (business) and I can't wait to return to this hotel for private purposes. Fantastic service with good English. Great, homely a**osphere. A very tasty breakfast that you can take to the roof terrace. I recommend the terrace itself for long evening conversations about business and more. As well as to rest after a long day. I found this address by accident and now I know that I was very lucky. Well, I don't recommend it anymore because later I will have problems with booking for myself. 10/10. Ps: A good base for trips to the city and the airport.

Our room was on the ground floor and the street outside was very noisy until late / early hours. There was no partition to the bathroom, no enclosure or even a curtain for the shower and the toilet was just in the corner behind a wooden screen.

This is probably the most uniquely designed hotel room I've ever stayed in. The shower and the bath (plenty of room for two) were delightfully indulgent, the accoutrements (containers for soap and shampoo) pleasing and practical, and, though located on a busy urban street, the evenings were quiet and peaceful. A ten-minute walk from Hercules Plaza and you have plenty of choices for eating or lounging and watching the world of Seville go by. The attached small restaurant, in character for the region, is where you not only get your petit dejeuner each morning, but a full tapas dinner if you are so inclined. Staff response was excellent. The only possible drawback is that it is located on the opposite side of town from some of the "major" sites, but we just used this as a good excuse to experience more of the city by foot.
