Just spent a couple of nights here whilst visiting the leadhills area. Fantastic hotel . We were well looked after from arriving to leaving. Room was well equipped for what we needed with a king size bed. .shower was lovely. Only problem was there wasnt a lot of room to get into it and would suggest a shower mat as an elderly or slighty infirm. Person may slip we actually put a towel down just in case. There was also a hanging light which i kept hitting.but couldn't work out how it switched on. Only other thing was there was 2 dogs barking til quite late on. .but didnt. Spoil our stay. Breakfast was lovely & hot and plentiful as was the continental offering . If im in the area again i would. Certainly stay here.. this is a place that should enter the programme. 4 in a bed as it would stand a good chance of winning if not a runner up. Thank you again for a lovely stay keep up the good work.all staff were brilliant and attentive.

Food not delivered after two hours. Called up and a very rude manager said they won't deliver to me anymore because I left a bad review the last time. So if you wanna stay here regularly you can't criticise the place or you won't stay again. Doesn't seem very professional and may even be illegal

Lovely friendly hotel. Made to feel very welcome and owners very helpful. Lovely little friendly pub on premises . Rooms were very clean and spacious. The best shower ever. Food also very nice. We had a late lunch in the restaurant and was very nice, thoroughly enjoyed . Will definitely be back

We had high hopes of having a nice lunch with family as the place looked good and had a fairly decent menu, food was decent but tiny portion would suit a 5 year old was still hungry after we left never got what we ordered and by the time it was corrected the rest of the food was finished, 2 of us ordered macaroni and a third person ordered the same we were informed the macaroni was finished, we were the only people in the place and they had just opened so we figured we were eating g the last of the previous nights food, that' explained the tiny portions, lasagne pasta wasn't cooked properly pasta was still hard in places def wouldn't go back nice enough place but that was a total let down and waste of money, now to find a chippy

Can’t praise this hotel enough rooms were excellent food was lovely best breakfast I’ve had .The owners Michael his mum and sister couldn’t make us feel more welcome the wee pub in the place is great and so are the locals thanks to everyone that made our weekend we will definitely be back

Friday night and the lights are low looking out for a place to go! What the hell, lets try the Nithsdale Hotel ! Roaring fire in the bar and good tunes playing in the background, I am already thinking what's not too like? The friendly waitress came over and asked if I would like a drink and handed me a copy of the menu. I had an excellent pint of Tennent's Lager and browsed the extensive bar menu and chose the Lamb chops followed by that old classic Knickerbocker Glory. The meal came quickly and was lovely which I found excellent value for money. I stayed for a couple of hours as the atmosphere and banter in the bar was vey enjoyable. I will most certainly be back!

Booked room No Heating - Toilet Seat Poor Fixture - Toilet roll holder broken - Poor welcome tray - Public toilet urinal damaged- Adverse Weather Proprietor did not provide heating in the dining room. Hot air heater placed in to dining room near our table. Prompted up on blocks of wood.

This hotel is an extremely good hotel, and I would very highly recommend it for any occasion. The rooms are so clean and have everything you need. Michael and his staff are incredible hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner is exceptional. We have stayed quite a few times and always look forward to returning. Thank you again to Michael and team, you are all amazing.

Just arrived home from two nights at the Nithsdale. The third time we have stayed there and as usual enjoyed the whole experience. Room, bathroom and food were excellent. Staff are so professional and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.👍👍
