Cortijo El Sotillo

We stayed at the Cortijo el Sotillo near Almeria late September while attending a wedding. The place itself is beautiful, the rooms are spread over several patios and terraced gardens. We room we stayed in was very specious and clean. I loved the bed heading made with handmade ceramic tiles. It was nice to enjoy the swimming pool for a quick splash. My only regret : not staying there long enough !

This has got to be the worst place I have ever stayed in. There was ano odd smell in the room when we first entered and was sparsely decorated. Later that evening whistory just dropping off to sleep my husband heard a noise - to find a cockroch climbing on one of our bags! We packed up in the night and exited the room. As all staff had left we slept in our vehicle for the night!! Disgusting place. In the morning at 7am the receptionist didn’t seem very surprised when my husband showed the photo our the uninvited guest to the room. Not recommended this dirty place as no doubt there were more of these dirty bugs around the hotel complex.

Decidiamo, per il nostro tour di 12 giorni in Andalusia, di fare tappa per una notte al mare, e optiamo per San José e le sue spiagge selvagge. Alloggiamo in questo comodo hotel con piscina, che ci offre subito un bel ristoro al nostro arrivo da Malaga. L'hotel offre anche ampi spazi comuni, essendo ricavata da un'ex casa colonica, oltre alle stanze molto spaziose dotate di terrazzino privato sul giardino. Ottima l'accoglienza e la disponibilità anche della signora alla reception. A mio avviso forse un pochino sovrapprezzo, anche se in alta stagione, a giudicare da alcune pecche delle camere, come ad esempio il bagno non proprio modernissimo ma comunque pulito e molto ampio.

Pour la première fois depuis que nous visitons la région (1995), nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel. D'un côté bien des points positifs: accueil sympa, chambre spacieuse, déco dépouillée et très andalouse, propreté irréprochable, très bon petit déjeuner, copieux. Belle architecture extérieure (un ancien cortijo transformé en hôtel qui servit de décor pour un Sergio Leone en son temps...). Clim intelligente, silencieuse et peu "glaciale". De l'autre, un emplacement au bord de la route, très fréquentée de jour comme de nuit, donc assez bruyant pour des gens comme nous qui vivons dans le silence toute l'année. Le parking est lui aussi très animé très tôt le matin et jusque tard le soir. Le camion des éboueurs passe le jeudi matin de très bonne heure et cela s'entend bien depuis la chambre! Peut-être qu'en changeant les fenêtres pour des modèles plus isolants? ... Possibilité d'aller à pied à San José, mais prévoir gilets fluo et lampe frontale pour le retour de nuit, la fin du chemin n'est pratiquement pas éclairée et les voitures vont vite. En conclusion, nous y retournerons si tous les autres hôtels que nous connaissons affichent complets (c'était le cas cette fois-ci). A noter que les chambres du bâtiment principal sont pour des familles, avec deux chambres associées en "suite" si j'ai bien compris. Les couples sont automatiquement logés dans le cortijo sur le parking.

L'hotel Cortijo el Sotillo è un 4 stelle di buona qualità, la nostra camere era più che sufficente per due adulti e un bambino, disponeva di una piccola aera esterna dove potere sedere (forse un stendino sarebbe stato opportuno dato la zona di mare per fare asciugare qualcosa), ottimo e grande il bragno. Piscina grande e pulita, purtroppo con pochi lettini, ma ottima per rilassarsi dopo il rientro dalla spiaggia. Colazione discreta ma sufficente. Bello il luogo in cui è immerso, tranquillo e fuori dal paese ma tutto è raggiugibile in pochi minuti, spiagge comprese. L'hotel è grande e disclocato in più edifici, la zona circcostante è davvero affascinate, sia dal punto di vista della natura che da quello cinematrografico. Prezzo non economico ma la struttura è consigliata.
