Could have done with phone charging point in room (USB) but then again I should have thought to bring a plug! Sometimes USB points are built into the TV. (A comment, not a complaint)

The hotel is very old and rundown and in need of redecoration and modernisation. The room was very basic. The cost was £70 for 2 people for 1 night excluding breakfast. Parking was limited so had to park on the street which is residents parking permit during the day. The reception staff were friendly enough. I would recommend paying a bit extra and staying elsewhere.

The room was huge and clean. The shower was rubbish. The room above us had squeaky floorboards which disturbed us in the night. We paid for early check in, but our room was not ready which was frustrating. The breakfast was good. It was good value for what we needed for one night.

Warm welcome and the staffs are so nice. They are helpful in all aspect and they make lodging easy for me.

If you just need a clean bed for a night or two then this was perfectly fine. No frills or extras but all that’s required. Not many gf options on the dinner menu, didn’t have breakfast in motel so can’t comment on gf availability at that.

Always love coming here. This is a listed building, it is full of special nuances, people, see complain, so, understand, before booking this is a place full of character, it has a charm and beauty of it's own. I come often as there are super cheap deals - and it is so comfortable. If you are a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs. I spent my birthday night here, don't know why so many don't appreciate the history and old-grandeur of this stunning place

Despite the squeakiest hotel floors that you'll ever hear, this hotel is a fantastic choice for a weekend break. The location is excellent, being only a 15 minute walk from the town centre. The staff were very welcoming and helpful - a big shout out to Herbie who was very attentive and friendly. We chose the unlimited breakfast which was great value for money and came with a wide array of options. The dinner options, although limited are also competitively priced and were very tasty - we had Chicken Tikka Masala and a Half Roast Chicken. The bar prices were also surprisingly reasonable- certainly cheaper than a couple of nice pubs in the local vicinity. The room was also very spacious with a very large en suite bathroom. We were very happy with our stay and will be back!

Although the hotel is a little dated and may need some modernising we would highly recommend a stay here. The staff very helpful and attentive, the hotel very clean and the rooms also very clean and comfortable. We had a good night's sleep and the shower worked very well. We also had a dinner here and there is a good range of options with great quality food. We would definitely stay here again.
