"The service we received and the attitude of the receptionist were appalling. She kept raising her voice at us and was angry about every question we asked. To enter the hotel, you first have to leave the lobby (if you can even call it that) and go through the staircase of a nearby building. The internet that was promised as part of the service only worked in the lobby itself, so we couldn’t enjoy any connection in our room at all. Very disappointing"

"My recent stay at Bristol Budapest Hotel was an excellent experience from start to finish; I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Budapest. I arrived at around 02:00, and despite the late hour, check-in was completely seamless. The staff were clearly expecting me; this made the whole process quick and effortless; exactly what you want after a long journey. The room itself was immaculately clean and very well presented. I appreciated the small touches; like the fridge stocked with a bottle of water, which can be replenished simply by taking it down to reception. The bed was very comfortable, with soft, high-quality linen that made for a great night’s sleep. There was also a good tea and coffee setup in the room; a welcome addition. Even though my room faced the street, I slept with the window open and wasn’t disturbed by noise at all; something that really stood out. The bathroom was spacious enough, with plenty of clean towels and some lovely complimentary toiletries. At one point I needed an iron and ironing board; reception provided both immediately without any fuss; which summed up the efficiency of the service throughout my stay. Breakfast was a real highlight. I had seen some mixed reviews beforehand, but I genuinely don’t understand why. The selection was extensive; covering both continental and hot options. Everything was beautifully presented, tasted great, and was constantly replenished and well maintained. It was easily one of the best parts of my stay. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. Every single person I encountered was friendly, helpful, and welcoming; always with a smile. That level of hospitality made a big difference. Overall, this is a solid and reliable option for anyone visiting Budapest; I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it."

"Excellent location, close to the Elizabeth Bridge and very convenient for trams and buses. Our comfortable 5th floor room had a fabulous view over the river - worth asking for. The hotel is undergoing alterations (it appears three different buildings are being incorporated) so some areas - reception, breakfast room - are probably temporary (although they are fine). A good breakfast with food replaced promptly and good service. Reception service and housekeeping were also friendly and professional."
