If you are in this region, stay in the troglodyte hotel. Staff are efficient, hotel is beautifully positioned over looking the Loire. Very relaxing after a day of sight seeing.

Room size and quality and views which can only come from a attentive and caring establishment. And the real bonus .. One of the largest and most comfortable hotel beds we have slept in for ages!

This lunch was in a hotel that partly was cut into the limestone cliff. From its teras we hade a very nice river view in one direction and this very interesting and beautiful hotel in the other direction. The lunch started with h’ordeuvres and sparkling chenin blank wine. There was many of them and a lot of them, and all were just delicious. Then we sat down and was served white asparagus with cheese, ham, and some nice sauce. Also, very good. And when we went on to a nice fish also with a wonderful sauce. Both dishes were accepted by nice chemin blank wines. Everything finished with their special desert an orange souffle that was very imposing visually. All in all, a perfect lunch in a perfect spot.

We didn't to a cave room - but had a beautiful, spacious room overlooking the river. Comfortable, beautiful hotel - excellent and very helpful staff. Brilliant views with great light in the afternoon and evening.

Great location. Beautiful room. We had a troglodyte room and it was very special, with amazing views. The food is outstanding and service attentive and friendly throughout. Definitely worth visiting the wine caves next door too.

Property is conveniently located on the Loire River near many Loire Chateaux and a major highway. Rooms carved out of rock make this property unique and unusually interesting. Staff are professional, effective, and make you feel comfortable and welcome. Food service is equally professional and effective, concentrated on local products which, in this case, are exceptionally good.

INCROYABLEMENT FABULEUX !!! Pour une première dans un Relais Châteaux, la première nuit était mon cadeau d'anniversaire offert par mon mari, ma famille et mes amis, la deuxième à notre charge et nous ne regrettons absolument pas. Nous avions une très grande et belle chambre de luxe troglodyte avec vue sur la Loire. Lit à baldaquin confortable, chambre décorée avec goût, certains murs sont de la roche, d'autres portent une tenture magnifique. Mini bar, peignoir, beau canapé et grands fauteuils, tout ce qu'il faut pour apprécier la chambre. Personnel très accueillant et à l'écoute, que ce soit la réception, les maîtres d'hotel, les serveurs (ses) et le sommelier au top. On vous explique tous les mets et les vins, c'est simplement délicieux, servi avec gout dans de la vaisselle incroyablement belle. Petit déjeuner copieux et servi avec grâce. Bref, je ne peux que recommander fortement cet établissement situé dans une belle région à proximité des châteaux de la Loire, dont le Chenonceau que nous avons visité. Un grand MERCI à toute l'équipe, vous nous avez enchanté :)

As soon as we made arrangements to stay, we knew it would be a great experience. We were called to set up dinner reservations (it was an amazing meal). Check-in was a breeze, and everyone we encountered was a dream. Friendly, welcoming and professional in every interaction. Herve was an absolute delight and brought us our coffee in the room every morning. We chose to take breakfast in the dining room most mornings but it was offered in room also. Speaking of room, our troglodyte cave was massive and beautifully appointed. We felt comfortable sleeping with the window wide open. The location was fantastic and we spent some time shopping in Tours as well as visiting some chateaus and walking around Rochecarbon and Vouvray. An amazing stay. Highly recommend!

I went there for 1 night with my family 2 days ago. Expectations were high because the location was great, the site well maintained and was classified in the relais-chateaux guide. we arrived and we entrance was not clear but the reception was nice. pity that there was no one at the reception and the gentleman on duty was outside smoking... aside from this he took us to the room (without explaining anything about the hotel and its services): old and gloomy room. We expected a tuff room (like the ones shown on the hotel website) while it was a normal room. The bathroom was old and unorganized: shower badly separated from the tub, all shabby and from the 80s. Since there were 3 of us we had a bed added in the room and it was a very uncomfortable cot, not to mention the "matrimonaile" bed (= 2 single beds attached) very uncomfortable. The only positive was the view from the room which was very nice. The pool was small, given the 10/12 rooms they have, but nice and with a nice view over the loire. The hotel restaurant was not well organized and the waiters were not professional, everyone seemed to be doing everything. the raw materials were excellent but the dishes less: super well served starter with octopus wrapped in ham and vegetables around it. it was a pity because the ham covered all the octopus flavor. Than we took lasagna as a first course and the taste was strange. there was both meat and lobster in it and it wasn't great. Leaving aside the fact that they weren't lasagna but just a pie covered with a sheet of lasagna pasta. last but not least: the breakfast. we arrived and they welcomed us well and put on a table overlooking the loire (super nice). there was no buffet so they brought you things to eat at the table, too bad it took them 20 minutes to bring us the food and drinks. Despite the slow service the food was very good and quality. To sum up not a hotel up to expectations and certainly to be improved.
