The Palazzo Avino is beautifully situated high above the neighboring towns in Ravello, which is a picturesque and beautiful location that allows for some privacy away from the hustle and bustle of Amalfi. Palazzo Avino is just a short walk from the Ravello Plaza which had multitudes of shopping, cafes, and restaurants less than a 10-minute walk away if you wanted to eat outside of the hotel, which we did most nights and had spectacular meals. Our rooms were well situated on the top floor and had gorgeous views of Maiori and Minori and were greeted with a sweet treat (on a nightly basis) two bottles of water, and a bottle of champagne on arrival. We did eat on-site for breakfast every morning and the selection was wonderful and the service was the best we had at the hotel. Upon arrival we were suggested to have dinner at the hotel and that the menu would be in our rooms (which we looked for thoroughly and then went to the website to see if it was there - it was not). We ended up going down to check out both restaurants and their corresponding menus. The Michelin-starred Rossellinis but were not up for a lavish meal and instead opted for the more casual restaurant Terrazza Belvedere which suited our tastes much more. We were unable to make a reservation at the restaurant but had to go back to the concierge to reserve a spot. I will say that our one negative experience was our dinner at Terrazza Belvedere, which we believe was due to a "Investors Dinner" happening at the table near us. We were seated at around 7:30 pm and did not receive our cocktails until around 8 pm, which is when the Investor's dinner attendees arrived. I say investors because, after one quick Google search, I realized it was the owners of the hotel and a few others having dinner at the restaurant next to us. We had one waiter for the whole restaurant who entirely catered the evening to them, which is understandable if no other tables were seated but the restaurant was fully packed with tables, and the beverage assistants were not allowed to take orders and had multiple awkward instances of following up with their higher up to share that other tables would like to order and or close out their checks. After being at two other 4-5 star hotels in other areas of Italy we expected to have similar service here but unfortunately, we felt that the service was very lacking and we passed on dessert due to the lack of service and the table near us becoming very boisterous and loud and not considerate of the other diners. I will say that I did leave this as feedback when asked by the hotel but had not heard any follow-up which is why I would rather let others know that my experience fell short in this circumstance and left a little bit of a sour taste in my mouth knowing the Owners were behind the reason for the poor service. I will say the concierge team, pool teams, and the Rossellinis team were all very wonderful and catered to our needs and did a wonderful job.
