Emerald Beach Resort & Spa

We stayed at this hotel in July this year. Completely disappointed, this is not a 5 star hotel. 1. The elevator does not work constantly - huge queues to get into the room (the hotel has 8 floors). You can wait 10 minutes. 2. To get to the beach, you have to walk 500 meters past an abandoned construction site along a dirty iron fence. The hotel does not have its own beach. The sea is dirty, everything is in algae. 3. There are 20 times fewer sun loungers by the pool than hotel guests. Free sunbed to find. 4. Tiles fell off on the stairs by the pool - this is unsafe. 5. At the pool, you need to constantly monitor your things; two towels were stolen from us. 6. Breakfast is poor. To get coffee, you have to stand in a huge line, like in a charity cafeteria, and they will give you a terrible drink from the machine in a PAPER (!) cup. And this is in a 5 star hotel!

Excellent hotel with large, clean rooms and apar**ents with nice view to pool and sea. Service is great, food in the restaurants is very delicious. Spa center is good and there is outside spa. All staff is warm, helpful and friendly.

I am very disappointed of this hotel. First the people at the reception yell at us, that we can't ask to be checked in before 14th, as we were some animals. We just ask a basic question, when you get early at a hotel, with no rush. Second this hotel is rated 5 *, but only the facilities are near that quality. The staff is untrained, rude and a fraction of the majority they need, so the guests can feel comfortable. It is not normal to wait more than 30 min for a drink, when the management known there will be a big group of people attending a gathering. The food... There is no polite way to describe it. This is the most artful food I ever tasted in my life! Again this is a 5* hotel.As you stay in one you expect fresh and tasty food. Even the salad wasn't tasty and they had 3 types, two of which were spaghetti only with olives and lentils with so much garlic, that if you ate, the people with you can start to cry when you speak. For the other food we had to choose from a menu. So most of us ate potatoes, as they were OK (frozen pack from the supermarket) I tried pork, fish and chicken... Imagine fish with plastic taste,uncooked pork and dry chicken brests. Also if you expect to go over the beach to chill at the sea, think again. The beach and water are dirty. There is so much rocks at the see, that it is unpleasant to get in. I strongly advise anyone, who wants to be a guest of this hotel, to rethinking and choose somewhere else to be. Also the village Ravda is not very pleasant for a holiday.

Worst Five star hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff at reception were rude and aggressive. The room stank of stale smoke, stayed in junior suite that contained nothing except a kettle, fridge and TV. No water, crockery or cutlery. Only saving grace was I was only staying for one night.

We are staying here on this visit and whilst the apar**ent is spacious, it could benefit from a refurbishment. Bar prices are high, food was relatively high compared to some nearby restaurants, but was nice. Pool area us great but evening entertainment can go on a but late. Ie last night went on past 2 am. A lot of restaurants/bars were closed when we arrived and many more have closed since. I wouldn’t come back to Ravda again at this time of year for this reason, better to go to Sunny Beach. Food in Ravda has been hit and miss, prices have pretty much matched UK prices since we were here last ( about 10 years) but the standard of food and service hasn’t improved to match. Bulgaria is still cheaper for some things but I don’t think it will be for much longer.

The pool was very cool and nice breakfast. And very friendly staff and nice beds. Slide at pool. Fun time. I would go back there because it’s a realy dun place to go have fun and jump into a pool.

BEST SPA AND MASSAGE EVER! As owners of an apar**ent at the Emerald, we have been visiting since the resort opened. While all the facilities are great and the pools keep the kids entertained for hours, it's the spa that has prompted me to write a review. I have just had the BEST MASSAGE EVER courtesy of BEHCHET. Last year I had a great massage from Behchet and this year's massage surpassed all previous massages. It was hands down the best massage ever. Small disappoin**ent that the sky bar hasn't been open yet despite being told by reception that it would be open every night. Thank you Behchet for an amazing massage. You deserve a pay rise!

Nice clean apar**ent bit small, meant for 3 people but as solo was ok Everything in either Russian or Bulgarian by the pool. Not bad but bit expensive for what is was. Swimming pools very nice. Not a bad experience

The worst hotel ever visit in my last 30 years! Avoid toxico-infections by staying away from the restaurant. The service from the stuff is not just a rude but can beat you if you complain. Never-ever think to visit if you are respect yourself.
