Hotel Meridional

Nice Hotel few pluses and minus. Plus room was lovely. Very clean and reasonable size. Glad we opted for sea view as the other rooms didn’t have much of a view. Bed really comfy . Chilly at night so nice heating but could not work out air con. Great views of beach which was walking distance. Minus. It’s a bit of a walk to the town but didn’t mind that at all Adverts say a pool no sign of any pool. Spa is just a whirlpool. Didn’t get much information when we arrived about local area. Restaurant confusing. Got the impression it’s set menus only so didn’t eat there. Asked if we could pay to keep our room for a few extra hours the day we were leaving but told no despite the hotel being quiet. Told we could if we had Al la carte menus but at 60 euro ahead decided to give it a miss. They came to clean our room very early the day after we arrived. Didn’t need it then. No sign of cleaners day after that when we could have done with a clean. Nice hotel but lacked the amenities we thought it would have . Staff not overly helpful.

Hotel is well located near the seafront and only a short walk to the busy town centre. Restaurants are modern and service was good. The hotel was operating a reduced menu as our stay was over Chris**as.

Nice little hotel front beach, lovely staff from receptionists to the all staff bar restaurant, nice clean room with amazing see view comfortable bed , cattle for coffee or tea in The room with complimentary water and the bathroom have all we need for our stay, air conditioner work perfect, just a little down on the space front bar not enough for all guest to take a drink and try to seat somewhere was a challenge both room was ready for the night dinner on the 24 of December so all was on top of each other, we decide to step outside but was very cold night so we decide to return inside ad all guest was all around try to found a space where put down the drinks, luck of a**osphere for a Xmas period just few decorations around, dinner wise was ok just for my test the combinations of some of it was a little to far, as a chef my self I don’t think the octopus go well with onions just don’t much for me and punch the fish and change his natural flavour, garlic extra virgin olive oil and a splash of lemon is all you need for it, maybe can play with a bed of herbs of mash potatoes or or mix little creamy potatoes to make it posh the main course was not enough hot and very very small portion again with out any complimentary vegetable or potatoes, the 3 way color and food on the plate always work on the eye and on the taste of any dish, but we speck with the Ladies waiters about, they apologise for it but was not necessary for us is just the way we think about food but we really appreciate it was a nice gesture from all restaurant staff, breakfast ok just I don’t get way there is a Nespresso coffee machine but not a hot milk machine to have a nice fluffy cappuccino just a cattle with hot milk inside. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we definitely will return when back in Guardamar, thanks to all from us Nino and Flavio room 405 ciaooooo

Location is on the beachfront with a handful of restaurants nearby and shops within 10 mins walk. Swimming Pool is over rd from hotel, the hotel provides towels if using pool area, which we never used. Reception staff are very welcoming and professional. The hotel has breakfast at €15 each which we never visited. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel, le Jardin serves lovely Spanish dishes. The rooms are bright modern and cleaned daily. Towels, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner are provided Tea coffee sugar facilties are replenished daily. I would highly recommend Hotel Meridional.

It was a great stay near the beach. Clean rooms and great staff.

We really like this hotel and its restaurant and have stayed here for about 25 nights over 4 or 5 years. Good beach nearby, not huge rooms but nice and clean and great food. We have therefore come back several times. On our current stay we are disappointed by the service though. We changed our booking a few months before to arrive a day earlier but made the mistake if not cancelling the last Saturday night of our stay (which was supposed to be 8 nights but booking now was for 9), we figured this out on the Tuesday and tried to amend but the hotel was unwilling and said we were going to be charged that night regardless. I understand that by their policy they have the right to do this, however it is disappointing that they cannot see we made a mistake and are not willing to be flexible even with a regular customer. We offered to pay and get a night in return on our next stay but that wasn’t accepted either. We still really like the hotel and the location and might return but due to this event may still consider other options next time. We may stay the extra night not to waste the money but this wasn’t the plan and gives us some problems on return… shame as we didn’t want to end the holiday on a bad note. To be honest, the hotel gets a 5/5 otherwise, so double disappointed by something like this.

Just gorgeous! Get the sea view, have the jacuzzi, eat in the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed ted. Beds are so comfy, place is very clean and staff are just gorgeous. I definitely recommend. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We were very disappointed with this hotel. We booked a room for 2 nights. the hotel only had a triple room left so we agreed to take it. it was like 2 small bedrooms in one. While the second room was ok, the main room was very small. However the bathroom was totally not suitable even for a double room! it was just about big enough for 1 person. We decided to eat in the hotel restaurant that night. upon arrival at the restaurant we waited about 10 minutes to be seated, even though the restaurant was most definitely not busy. We were shown to our table and this sign was dumped on our table. We waited for a few minutes to see if we would get attention from either of the 2 waiters for drinks and paper menus. We realised we had to scan the menu, ( we are both senior citizens! which we did. Then we waited 20 minutes for anyone to come near us to take our order. The food most definitely did not justify the long wait. Breakfast was served until 10.30, so we came down at 10.00. The waitress was so ill mannered, nearly refusing to let us in. She had at this stage switched off the hot plates but tried to hide this from us. As we ate our breakfast, the 3 staff made so much noise and commented on us eating at this time. We decided to move on. The 2 receptionists were the only people suited to work in the hospitality industry . Avoid this hotel.

All the staff were really helpful the lady on reception lent us a charger as we had lost ours . Also in the le jardin restaurant Jodanna and Angela were really engaging and recommended some great wines for us to try. Food was great and we were glad we booked half board as it was good value. Room was clean and fresh with a sea view and the sound of the waves was lovely. Pretty much on the beach and guardemar is a lovely town. Breakfast was excellent with everything you needed . They hotel also provided us with a picnic breakfast as we had an early flight to Alicante - very thoughtful and much appreciated. A lovely stay and we will return - mr and mrs hender
