Clifton Arms Hotel

We visited the hotel to attend a wedding. The car park is free to patrons,easily accessed and quite secure. The room was bright spacious and very clean .lovely bathroom and lots of tea,coffee etc. The staff were great and the service brilliant.. Food was v good. The position of the hotel on the front of Lytham is perfect for walks . Loads of things going off in the town,a five min walk from the hotel. A wonderfull week end.

A friend and I pooped in for a snack and drink on a busy Saturday afternoon. We were quickly offered a lovely table outside and ordered a sandwich and rink each which both arrived quickly and were very well presented. Delicious food, lovely friendly service and great location -definitely worth a visit!

Booked this hotel as I was given some vouchers for my birthday. The downstairs of the hotel is lovely, the upstairs not so much. We were very disappointed by how tired and dated our room looked. The furniture was stained, looked like there had been a leak coming down the wall. The tea tray was ok but with uht milk and cheap coffee sachets (only decaffeinated so no brew in the morning when we got up). There was also a strange smell in the corridors upstairs which never went away. Breakfast was good although service a little slow. The location is very handy but we won’t return, there are much more reasonably priced hotels locally.

Beautiful setting but food was outstanding and worthy of it. Staff very friendly and could not do enough for all the customers making it a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. A little bit more expensive than I would usually pay but worth it for a treat.

The Clifton Arms hands down won our vote to host our wedding when visiting venues last year. The location is perfect looking out over the green and sea beyond (which made it perfect for wedding photos too). The modern yet tastefully decorated hotel is immaculate throughout and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The ceremony room was prepared beautifully for us, along with the ballroom. We stayed in the chairman's suite bedroom which was incredible, again overlooking the green and benefitting from incredible sea views. The breakfast the next day was freshly prepared, plentiful and the service from the breakfast staff was simply perfect. Kath, our wedding coordinator was AMAZING, she kept us informed the months leading up to the big day and literally nothing was to much for her to sort/organise. Her attention to detail was second to none and this paid dividends, come the actual day/evening, as everything went incredibly smoothly. A huge shout out to the rest of the team who looked after us on our wedding day, you really are what makes the difference and we thank you. Myself and my wife couldn't have wished for a more perfect wedding and will cherish the memories and photos for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much to all the staff, you're amazing!!

The restaurant is beautiful with a nice quiet atmosphere. The location and vies on the front are stunning. Chatting with friends is easy and pleasant. So all good for four friends catching up over lunch. . . Unfortunately the service was terrible. Not what I expect from the Clifton Arms. Lots of staff chatting to each other, but not attending to our table. Drinks took an absolute ages to arrive, approx 25 mins for my friends coffee. I wasn't asked if I wanted a drink again for ages, so all very disjointed and disappointing. The staff were in the main unfriendly and surly. The food order wasn't taken for an age, and took a long time to arrive. We ordered from the sandwich menu and the food was not good. Not bad enough to complain about but just very underwhelming. We were not in a rush (good job). The main purpose was a catch up, so the beautiful surroundings, general ambience and views made up for the terrible service and mediocre food. Not what I was expecting from such a lovely hotel.

Lovely hotel, there were 5 of us ladies, all different bedrooms but the standard of all were very good, spotlessly clean . Extremely comfortable beds, good quality bedding. We ate one night in the restaurant, excellent food, well presented and plenty choice. Breakfast, again good quality and choice. Staff were superb, so friendly and hospitable , yet maintaining professionalism. Especially the man who checked us in on reception Friday afternoon, and Adam on the bar . Will definitely return .

Well. We are locals. Been going to the Clifton arms for at least 40 years. Have had all our significant birthdays there. Even had our child’s funeral there. It’s been a constant in our lives so booked tonight for my husband’s birthday meal. Four of us enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. Was asked if we would mind vacating our table so they could clear up and go to the lounge for our coffee etc. no problem from our part. Sat in the lounge after paying our bill of over £230. Told they Can’t serve coffee. Can’t serve drinks after 10.30 to non residents. The Bar management were beyond rude and arrogant. Can’t believe that we won’t step foot inside the Clifton Arms again. So so sad. Xxxx

Booked for a late lunch, having dined here previously. We were advised when we arrived that service would be slow as there were minimal kitchen staff in, which we accepted. However one starter arrived and was eaten before the other started appeared. We then waited 50 minutes for our main course, with one further apology and to be told the kitchen staff had been paid the day before and "gone on a bender" so hadn't turned up for work. We ordered dessert, but after another 45 minutes - and nearly 3 hrs after arriving for lunch - we gave up and asked to cancel our dessert and asked for the bill. Overall a disappointing experience as we had looked forward to time together to celebrate our anniversary.
