Een heel mooi hotel met prachtige kamers heel goed ontbijt schoon prachtige tuin een en al prachtig

Not worth the money. Wifi isnt available except very weakly in reception. The service isnt good and English isnt spoken. Food was bland and choices are limited. The day we were to check out we came down to breakfast and were told no breakfast (except a yoghurt and fruit) because we don't have any guests!!!!! Several times at breakfast things were finished and we were told several times sorry bread finished , sorry bananas finished. Theres nobody to complain to either so trying to make things better wasn't an option. Rooms-go back to the 60/70s and you’re at this hotel. Paid for a superior room and it wasn't worth it. Badly planned, dark and uncomfortable. The balcony small and the aircon is out there so you cant sit there its like a sitting in a sauna with airplanes flying over at low height. There is a wall so to see ( a small glimpse) of the sea you have to stand. Go somewhere else is my tip. Not hotels problem but just tio add on-We were tricked out if hiring a car-confirmed and then didn't show up Porto Novo us little and theres nothing to do its high season and two restaurants are open

Booked a superior room really not worth it. Poor furnishings very basic. Regretted booking. Would not go back again. Area is quite Barron and does not feel particularly safe in the evenings. Day trip on a boat would be fine. Not worth staying

(I am updating the review I wrote in January 2022; we stayed there again in Jan 2023 and certain things have improved.) The hotel has free internet, but that is mainly in reception - most rooms do not have it. However, room 301 (larger than most others, and more expensive) had good wifi - maybe because it is quite near reception. Also, the air conditioning in this bedroom (and maybe others?) has been improved - quieter and more adjustable than previously. There is a pool but no gym/fitness room. We were traveling with a baby and needed various cups washed and sterilised, and the restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly - in fact all the staff are friendly. There is a new manager who seems to be very active in trying to improve things - he also speaks excellent English, unlike some of the staff. (A previous review suggested that the hotel was under-managed - I think that has changed now!)

The hotel says it as free internet, but that is only in reception. No wifi in bedrooms. I spent a week on this island (in winter/dry season) and got bitten by mosquitos in only one place - reception of this hotel. And I was only sitting in reception because there is no wifi in the bedrooms. They really REALLY need to change this. (And before you reply that this is Africa, and so I shouldn't expect European standards, I paid over 65 euros a night, which is more than some hotels in the UK...). On the positive side, we were traveling with a baby and needed various cups washed and sterilised, and the restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. Air conditioning in rooms only has one temperature (21 degrees) and one noise level (quite loud).

Ich war eine Nacht als Teil einer Wandergruppe hier. Die Anlage ist schön, weitläufig mit Pool, Zugang zum Strand und vor allem einer sehr schönen Terrasse. Das Restaurant hat weniger A**osphäre, aber das Buffet war sowohl für das Abendessen, als auch für das Frühstück, richtig gut. Außerdem gibt es eine gut bestückte Bar, an der ich den Gin empfehlen kann. Wie andere Rezensenten schreiben, ist das WLAN nur in der Lobby existent, ansonsten nirgendwo auch nur die geringste Verfügbarkeit. Das führt dazu, dass immer eine Menge Leute dort herumsitzen - was allerdings auch gut geht, es gibt jede Menge bequeme Sessel [aber es stimmt auch, dass es eher dunkel dort ist]. Das Zimmer war mit allem, was man braucht eingerichtet, dabei aber schon auch ein bisschen abgeschrappt und eher rustikal. Das Bad hatte eine Dusche, war aber auch echt winzig. Für mich alleine ging es soweit gut, aber zu zweit wäre es sicher nervig. Dazu kommt, dass es nur sehr wenig Ablagefläche gab; ich habe die Hälfte meiner Sachen auf den Boden gestellt. Einige meiner Mitreisenden hatten keine Handtücher auf den Zimmern und haben z.T. lange darauf gewartet, das würde ich nach dem Einchecken also gleich nachsehen. Die Klimaanlage hat gut funktioniert, genau wie die Verdunklung. Es war ruhig im Zimmer und ich habe gut geschlafen. Auch noch zu erwähnen ist, dass alles sehr sauber war und ich keinen Insekten im Zimmer begegnet bin [auf der Reise habe ich gelernt, dass das durchaus erwähnenswert ist].

Ik las heel slechte recensies over dit hotel maar dat viel gelukkig erg mee. Alles is wat vergane glorie en gedateerd maar schoon. Grote kamer met uitzicht op zee en een groot zwembad. Een paar restaurantjes in de buurt. In de haven zit een nieuw restaurant met uitzicht op zee. Op 200 meter van het hotel zit ook een restaurant, Ratatouille. Het ontbijt in het hotel is prima. Je kunt lekker buiten op het terras ontbijten. De houten bedden bij het zwembad zijn ook goed maar niet allemaal voorzien van een kussen. In Porto Nova zelf is niet veel te dien of te zien. Je kunt hier op het eiland wel fantastisch wandelen. Voor 70 euro rijdt een taxi je naar de kraterrand en van daaruit wandel je zig zaggend over een pad naar het dal. Een pittige tocht maar met een prachtig uitzicht. Zorg voor goede wandelschoenen! Beneden in het dal wacht de taxi op je en brengt je via de kustweg naar je hotel terug. Bij Tui kost deze excursie 55 euro pp! Voor 4 personen dus 220 euro ipv 70 euro. Erg jammer....

Hôtel correct et proche du centre de la petite ville donc il était possible de se promener en soirée ; la piscine était propre et il y avait suffisamment de chaises longues. le personnel était sympathique.

Grand parking. Accueil spacieux avec fauteuils et canapés. Chambre spacieuse avec TV, frigo, clim et terrasse. C'est les seuls points de positif. Un peu de renouveau, de restauration serait le bienvenu. L'ascenseur est toujours en panne et ce depuis 2021 et il n'est pas prêt d'être remis en service. Pour la cuisine on ne peut pas descendre plus bas. C'est infame, insipide et en petite quantité. C'est un buffet avec 3 entrées, 1 plat de viande, 1 de poisson et 3 légumes et en dessert 4 choix. Le restaurant est ouvert de 19h30 à 21h30. Mais un soir nous sommes arrivés à 7 vers 20h45 : pratiquement plus rien à manger. Plusieurs fois nous avons relancé le serveur, mais rien y a fait il a fallu ouvrir la porte des cuisines pour se faire entendre et qu'on nous apporte un peu, je dis bien un peu, à manger. Une misère. Une honte. Je joins des photos des ruines du repas lorsqu'on est arrivé.
