We stayed here for a weekend city break, having never been to Porto before. The hotel is well located, less than 5 minutes from Trindade metro station, which has a direct line from the airport. The property is more of a boutique B&B than a hotel, so the main door is access controlled, meaning you have to ring the bell to get in. We arrived early and dropped our bags and explored Porto, and when we returned to check in, they had already brought our bags to our room, which was a nice touch (and the first of many). The room itself was stunning. A grand old parlour converted into a modern and stylish bedroom, with a very nice bed, two arm chairs, a coffee table and a sideboard. The free standing marble sink was lovely and the bathroom has separate walk in shower and toilet with all new fittings. The designer clearly has a good eye, and the room managed to feel modern, while still paying respect to the history of the building, which I suppose could be said of Porto as a whole. The breakfast was nice, with fresh bread, cheese and cakes, and cooked to order eggs. The dining area is lovely, again putting modern design seamlessly into an older settings. The location is good. It's about a ten minute walk from the historic centre and river (be warned, Porto is not an easy city to walk around), and the area itself is well serviced with restaurants and cafes. The staff and owner were very helpful and friendly. This place seems very well loved and we took pleasure in sincerely thanking them for their stay. The price we paid was extremely reasonable too. Would certainly stay there again next time we are in beautiful Porto.
