Pao de Acucar Hotel

Hotel is centrally located, right off the main square. In a walking distance to all the main attractions and train station. Hotel is clean and simple, featuring bumper car memorabilia. Our room was spacious (deluxe) but simple. Noteworthy excellent shower! Breakfast is simple and plentiful

お部屋が広く、きれいでしたので過ごしやすかったです。11月で夜は冷えますが、エアコンもしっかり効いて快適でした。 朝ごはんも美味しくかったです。アクセスもよく、ホテル館内の雰囲気もレトロ好きな方には最適かと思いますし、またポルトに来ることがあれば利用したいと思います。

Service was great! But walls are thin and doors are loud. We heard people around us. Bed and pillows were poor. It’s in a great area! Ease of walking was great. Just a little loud and beds were not great.

I loved the retro classic Hotel style, with plenty of classic paraphernalia scattered all over the place... It takes you back in time, to a more home feeling time!! The staff were really attentive and problem solving oriented. The room was modern and brand new, nothing missing. Location? Couldn't be better. Really a worth your money place.

Great location... close in but on a quiet street. Nice small balcony, very good breakfast, helpful staff. Would stay there again. Grocery store nearby as well as several restaurants including a Hard Rock Cafe.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of May 2023. I was attracted by the old memorabilia in the photos. Unfortunately that was the best and only highlight for this hotel. The good points it was clean, and good central location, that where it ends, The reception staff were rude , abrupt and very unhelpful! You had to pay for your stay when you checked in, this is totally different from every other hotel in the world, it just says we don't trust you!!The rooms were cramped and poorly maintained, with very few facilities. We had to ask for more than one bottle of shampoo, no shower Gel for the two of us. The shower was over bath in the two rooms I saw, it was very dangerous as you had to negotiate stepping over the toilet to get into and out of the shower, and the bathmat was a foot square towel, hardly big enough for one foot let alone to stand on!! (see photo). Only fruit tea bags, no coffee, milk, sugar , biscuits etc, The shower head did not work properly and we asked it to be changed. It wasn't we had to ask again, 3.50 Euros for a new one and it took two days pathetic. The view from the room (see photo) was of an internal courtyard looking at all the other rooms AC units lovely. You also had to ask for the controller to turn the AC on form reception, this was not in the room!! Breakfast was a shambles, you had to book breakfast so we had it on the first day, there was a barrier to get into the breakfast room, so they made sure they got your room number and then charged you 8 Euros each for the privilege. Breakfast was awful, stodgy tiny croissants, , scrambled egg, which was made from powder and the coffee was mainly powdered milk mixed with water. Breakfast definitely a no-no, staff were rude and unhelpful!, I would certainly stay closer to the Douro River next time and no where near this hotel!!

Centrally located. Friendly and very helpful staff - every single staff from frontdesk to breakfast hall. Check in/out very smooth. Have to leave your key with the front desk whenever you leave the hotel. The wifi wasn't that strong in my room - maybe because my room was at the end near the staircase but not a major problem. Breakfast was decent - everything you want is there. Breakfast is at 8Euro which you pay at the front desk before going to the breakfast hall. Its an old but gold(very clean, decent) hotel with retro/vintage furniture/pieces scattered all over the hotel. You will want to go to all the floors to see the various retro items. Such good memories. A total visual treat. The next time I visit, Im gonna bring something vintage/retro and leave it there! Shhhhhhh!

very bad smell from the toilet/bathroom. Very bad /no internet in my room. When I asked to fix / or find solution I didn’t hear anything later. Nice staff and helpful 🙏
