Teleferic Grand Hotel

The hotel is very nice, clean and has the perfect location close to the ski area,, but the cons are it is too expensive for such standard and the service they provide for the food they they serve as a bit noisy with kids loud sounds .. However my family really enjoyed it and looking to come next winter for ski.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in Feb 24 whilst skiing in Poiana. We normally stay at New Belvedere but it was fully booked so we tried Teleferic and were not disappointed. The bar is a lovely relaxing oasis after skiing, the restaurant excellent for breakfast with a huge selection. The rooms are lovely (junior suite with balcony). Importantly, there is a ski locker for changing and keeping your gear, and access to the telecabin is a short walk up some steps. The staff here are exceptional, really friendly and super accommodating, we’ll be back!

The cafe doesn't open until 10, which is awkward, a bunch of guests just stand around waiting. It makes no sense to not open at a normal time. Furthermore, they don't allow ordering food until after 11. Staff is very kind and helpful.

Pros: clean and modern hotel. Breakfast has a good selection and the restaurant has a vegetarian menu. Cons: Spa is overrun with screaming children and disinterested, obnoxious parents. If the weather turns against you and skiing is out then there’s nothing to do in the area and the hotel has no sanctuary (spa) to save your day. Wouldn’t return due to the spa.

,1…. Horrible experience.. the food is too “ well done”, more like on a 1 star restaurant.. we ordered pancakes.. the photo tells everything.. do not eat here!!!! Never.. the services in the last 2 years go down a lot… do not reccommend .. ana hotels is better and cheaper

The hotel is perfectly located for skiers, right in front of the ski slopes and that alone, having considered the hassle required to travel by car to ski slopes anywhere around Prahova Valley is a very big plus. And the hotel itself really is beautiful, especially if you are lucky enough, (like we were), to have snow contribute to the fairytale-like scenery. The room was good, not memorable, small, but good enough. Breakfast was also great, not a single thing I could complain about. The spa area would also have been great if basic common sense rules and hotel rules would have been followed. Unfortunately, this was not the case. There are posters everywhere stating that children are not allowed in the sauna area. However, many of the guests could not be bothered to read and/or follow a simple rule. The sauna area is beautiful, but quite small and the children opening and closing the sauna's door every two minutes ruined the entire experience. Same goes for the relaxation area which was so loud and crowded that you almost felt like using earplugs. The two jacuzzis outside were amazing, sadly, although another poster clearly stated that they were to be used for no longer than 20 minutes, they were simply untouchable because people where using it as a bar where they drank their bottles of champagne or simply hogging it for one hour or more. Of course you could have the spa for yourself at 1 pm, if you were willing to give up skiing, but it was a nightmare every single day after 3 pm. We did complain several times at the reception and at the spa, but we got the same disrespectful answer "we cannot do anything about it". The reception staff was quite stiff and of no help whatsoever, the staff in the buffet area was a pleasure to deal with, on the other hand. They were attentive and helpful, the management is to be congratulated on this matter. We have stayed there last year, late March, and found a somewhat decent price at the time. We have thought about returning this year, but the prices have gone over the roof. We are well traveled and I can honestly say I have never seen such a hudge gap between the asking price and the services provided. Not in Romania, nor anywhere else. However, I would still consider returning here if and when the price would not be simply insulting and if and when the spa area would ever become a more relaxing and civilized one, rather than the complete mayhem that it was when we last visited.

Wonderful hotel, very friendly personell. Rooms are very clean beds and pillows are the most comfortable I have ever experienced since travelling. Breakfast is very good and there is a large selection for every taste. It was a great experience and we will return for sure at this location.

Nice experience, but not quite as nice as tou would expect! Pros: big rooms, confy beds, soundproofed rooms, nice area, big parking lot, nice restaurant, view from the sauna, clean!! Nice bar downstairs. Cons: - staff is ok, but at the restaurand is quite hard to make yourself understood sometimes, Romanian or English, I mean it’s ok to have the people from Philipine to serve at Breakfast, but when at Lunch or Dinner, must be more Romanian staff. ( it took 4 minutes to sort out that we want cabbage salad with the schnitzel, for example). - guys at the bar very unfriendly and unhelpfull, when they did not want to do something they just say they don’t understand - water in the pool full of Chlorine or something, but so full that my TH swimsuit lost color😒 and my wife’s white swimsuit got a little bit yellow. Also our 4 year old didn’t feel quite good after 1 hour or so. So to the staff, please pay more attention to this! I think it’s maybe the best Hotel in Poiana Brasov, but far from beeing a great one overall.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and couldn’t find fault. The food was lovely with plenty of choice, well cooked and presented. The rooms were all greatly proportioned with plenty of storage for longer stays. It’s doubtful we will be back in Romania but if we were to visit would definitely stay here again.
