Podere Spedalone

We had a sensational stay at Podere Spedalone. The place was amazing, the views great and the food sensational. The staff were very attentive. Location was convenient for southern Tuscany. Highly recommend both the dinner and the cooking class.

This was our honeymoon and we decided to stay at a more authentic place and do not regret our choice at all. We found it easy to navigate to, the section of dirt road was not bad at all, and the property is vast and allows for beautiful hikes and exploration. The property had lots of fun trips to take (truffle hunting, e-bikes, horseback riding, etc.). We did the cooking class with Roddy and had a great time. My husband was not thrilled I had signed him up for this, but it turns out we had a fun time and learned a lot. Roddy speaks great English and really makes the class enjoyable (it was just the three of us, and we at the lunch we cooked). We purchased the dinner for Saturday night and there were about 12 people we met and dined with, and it was a traditional dinner--lots of food and lasted for 2-3 hours. Our room was on the bottom floor in the courtyard, so that was great for us. We were near everything, but it was very quiet. The room was a suite so it had a living area, as well as two bathrooms (bring your own shampoo and conditioner). The folks that run the farm are very accommodating and will help you with whatever you need, and everyone seems to speak enough English to be helpful. The wine add-ons with the meals were very good and reasonable. We enjoyed long walks on the property and didn't see anyone else for hours. The landscape is filled with deer that roam the area, chickens in a coup, resident dog and two cats, as well as all sorts of beautiful birds. Their garden is right off of the main lodging area and there are tons of places to enjoy your morning cappuccino or coffee. The breakfasts that is included is HUGE. Lots of different items that included homemade pastries, tarts, breads, yogurt, etc to fresh hams, salamis, and cheeses. Lots of fruits and fresh eggs made to order. The two best parts of staying at the Podere Spedolone are the nice rooms that still feel rustic, as well as the customer service. The sunsets are fantastic as well!

20 out of 10. Beautiful hotel, great staff, mind-blowing view, amazing food. We had breakfast included - it was wonderful, we ordered dinner separately. And it's 200% worth it. The owners love what they do, this is reflected in everyone, in every detail. I will come here with great pleasure and will recommend it to my friend

I organized a photography tour in the area of Val D’Orcia for 4 days with English Photographers. We used this farmhouse as a base for our tour. The apartment we had was delightful. Rustic in its true nature for the region however very warm and clean. The surrounding country side where the farmhouse is located is some of the best in Tuscany. The staff were very very friendly and accomodating and the breakfast and dinner in the restaurant absolutely splendid. I will be going back soon after such a great experience. I recommend this accomodation to anyone wanting to stay in the region who is after a real “Tuscan” experience. Immersed in the real culture of the region, close to pienza however secluded and away from the busy crowds

After many years we've bene traveling in Tuscany, we felt robbed for the first time. After a colleague of mine recommended me this place, we decided to head here for a 4 days brief vacation. Too bad they changed management, so we didn't appreciate one single thing of what we expected. Pros: -the surrounding location Is obviously beautiful. -breakfast Is good. Cons: - Even if the building is nice, It Is poorly kept. They sell you for a high price small and poorly furnished rooms like It was a very exclusive place. You can clearly hear two people talking at low volume in the adiacent room, just like in the world motel... We have been in way better and cheaper places in Tuscany. - Hospitality Is cold, they make you feel just like a walking wallet. All they want Is your money, and they don't even try to hide that. - Dinner Is not bad, but it's overpriced. 40 euros each + 25 if you want eat meat, wine excluded! You pay that price even if you want to eat just one dish from the (set) menu. -Some of the guys working there, are rude. I am sorry but if I pay a lot, I expect an excellent service. For the first time ever, we decided to leave one day early. We paid the whole stay, but they didn't even try to apply a small discount. This Is the behavior that damages tourism in Tuscany. Worst vacation in Tuscany for us, after many years.

Perfect stay, highly recommended!! My husband and I had a perfect stay at Podere Spedalone! Room was spacious and comfortable. All the staff is very nice and took really good care of us. We felt very welcomed and liked the personal approach. We had dinner every night here and it was really good with fresh herbs from the their planted gsrden and had also some lovely homemade wines. spend all of nights together as a one family and loved the nice company and atmosphere, views are also breath taking !!! They went out of their way to organize a lovely anniversary dinner for us both. highly recommended!! Excellent choice will surely be back soon !!

Wonderful dinner with all the guests. Flor was the hostess (?) . Just missed the sunset. Excellent food. Beautiful weather. Very good meal with warm fellowship. This is the rural Italian experience you are looking for.

Our stay at Podere Spedalone was exactly as we had imagined. A magical spot in the Tuscan countryside to relax and enjoy great food, incredible views, and quiet bliss. All with the help of an amazing staff. We chose to enjoy the majority of our dinners along with other guests right there at the Podere. Appetizers and Prosecco served on the lawn overlooking the olive trees. Great chats with the other guests then inside for a delicious multi-course dinner that changed from one day to the next. Sincerely can’t wait to go back!

Podere Spedalone was an absolute delight and is located in a very scenic area of Tuscany in the Val d Orcia. The Villa is gorgeous and surrounded by hill views all around us. We had the set dinner both nights and each night was absolutely delicious and completely different food from the night before, such a great variety. The breakfast was a buffet style with lots of yummy options and eaten outside in nice weather with the hills as a backdrop, absolutely breathtaking. We loved the pool also, it was great to be able Fo cool off in the heat. All of the staff were so friendly which made it such a memorable experience and the perfect quintessential Tuscan holiday you dream of. Thank you
