Margaret and Bill and the perfect hosts. The room was excellent with many amenities provided. Spacious and comfortable. Large bathroom, use of a large lounge room. Breakfast was excellent, all home cooked.

I took my missus here for an anniversary dinner and night out. We live in Blenheim and have heard good things about Picton. And we had heard that Margaret ran the best place in town. We were mis-informed. We arrived and there was a giant dog sitting in the middle of the lounge. that we nearly tripped over. The owner (a guy, and not Margaret, who I understand has moved on) apologised and gave us our room key. The room felt a little bit like 1990s. But we were fine with that. But what we were not fine with was the couple ion the next room making noises all night long. Evidently having a whale of a time. The breakfast was very strange. Only Criossants and coffee available No tea or bacon and eggs. We went down to the toastie place which was fun and filling.

Kippilaw House is a wonderful place to stay in Picton. Margaret and Bill are the epitome of generosity and hospitality - kind, thoughtful, and wonderful. Caution: do not eat before you come here - you will be plied with magnificent breakfast, and if you desire, a generous and delicious dinner. The upstairs bedroom is super comfortable, with a terrific bathroom and all amenities. We cannot wait to come back!

It was a real tonic to stay in this luxury B&B after some heavy hiking days. Bill and Margaret are fantastic hosts - very kind and generous. The food was delicious, both breakfast and dinner. Margaret is a really excellent cook. Very comfortable beds, a beautiful garden too

Cooking class was very disappointing. It was very informal, more like "helping cook with Mum". There was also so many flies in the kitchen. When I called after the stay to discuss our experience, I was refused conversation and spoken to rudely by Margaret before being hung up on abruptly. The room itself and breakfast was beautiful. It was a real shame about the cooking class and the customer service we received after our stay. I wouldn't personally recommend the cooking class to anyone at all!

Excellent place to stay. Great hospitality. Close to Picton ferry terminal (5min drive). We were on our way to Dunedin and decided to stay here for a night. Easy communication, great welcome and comfortable stay in a boutique style house. Very clean, and every necessity was available. Great homemade breakfast was also included in our stay. I highly recommend this place to stay and experience the difference.
