This hotel is just5 years old and attractively decorated and furnished. Well maintained and sparking clean. The happy, accommodating staff is a huge plus here. I will confess that my Spanish is shaky, but everyone was extremely patient plus fron managers all seemed be English fluent. Breakfast buffet was inviting carefully groomed and replenished. Be aware that the food is Mexican, no white toast and bacon in sight. My room was spacious and comfortable with an oversized HD tv. This place is a real gem!
Very highly recommended, particularly for those weary travellers who would rather set up camp within a stone's throw of the bus terminal ... and close to a most delectable food market! The hotel boasts several elegant and ample lounges on different floors where the guest can sit with his companions for a chat, do some reading, catch up to his diary, or just idle away in quiet and immaculate surroundings. There are a number of lifts servicing the hotel's five storeys, if one does not wish to unwind the winding staircases. Room-door and room-lighting are operated by means of a card-key, and the sober en-suite rooms come complete with a coffee-making machine, telephone for FREE calls, wi-fi, bottled water, coffee & sugar, bathroom amenity kit, all courtesy of the house. You will find Mr Paul at the reception desk, and Mr Eduardo, extremely pleasant, polite and accommodating gentlemen. You will not even have to take your luggage upstairs! Ask for a room overlooking the mighty Mt Popocatepetl, the city's smoking active volcano!
Terribly noisy. Like sleeping in an airport maintenance hangar. Absolutely unacceptable. Do not ever forget who is writing four and five star reviews. People that have never seen a real four or five star hotel. Just have a look who leaves a real unbiased review for this hotel. Mostly foreigners. Paperthin walls, you think these stone age guests are in your very room ! I had to change the room as they gave me one across the elevator which has the brakes on top of the cabin, not in an extra machine compartment on the roof (to save some miserable pesos). So you could hear the motor noise all night long through the paperthin doors. They have tile floors everywhere Then you get the unfriendly reception staff without any clue of what to do. They give you a coffeemaker with a sign to buy the pathetic coffee pack at the reception. 4 stars? Ha Ha ! Also you can listen to the cleaning staff at 7.30 am yelling throughout the hallways, even their conversation on the walkie-talkies and I’m not even mentioning the ubiquitous door bangers all day round. Their guests are even worse than their doors. Oh yes, wifi just works sporadically. This is not a hotel, but a mental asylum. You can hear the hairdryers in the rooms around you ! After the 2 useless reception girls lying into my face about no available rooms to change to I insisted talking to the GM which was the only friendly person in the whole ‘hotel’. She mysteriously found a quieter room for me . Strange,ey ? My goodness what a terrible place. Don’t come if you need to sleep or work online. Both won’t work in this hotel. You get what you pay for . Don’t forget. I won’t ever come back. Thanks again to the GM for resolving, or at least trying to resolve this ordeal. She was the only proactive and friendly person with a brain in the hotel.
