Excellent staff.. had a evening meal food was very tasty ... room was very nicely decorated with a comfy bed .. had a cooked breakfast then got talking to the owners before we left ... couldn't do enough for us

I stayed for one night in May, breaking my journey further North. It`s one of those pubs, where they`ve really managed to combine the age and character of the pub, with a bright and modern interior, that really works. The pub was full when I arrived and despite the staff being rushed off their feet, I received a warm welcome. I stayed in room one, which is the single room at the front of the pub with views over the adjacent fells and fields. The room was beautifully decorated, with a bathroom that looked new and was wonderfully finished in rustic pine. My only complaint about the room, was that the bed was just so soft, it was really difficult to get comfortable and I didn`t really sleep well as a result. However, everything else was pretty much perfect. I had a lovely veggie curry, washed down with a perfectly kept pint of Thwaites, all served by two lovely ladies, who didn`t stop all the time I was eating. It was mad busy whilst I was there and certainly at the weekends, I`d advise booking or you just won`t get a table. I`d 100% stay again, but if the owner reads this, please change the mattress in room one, it`s just too soft and is a back breaker !!

We were given a wonderfully warm welcome as we dropped in by chance for Sunday lunch whilst travelling round the area. A beautiful part of the world and thankfully we spotted the signage on the roadside tempting us in. This pub is spotless and the food was hot, served in perfect time with the best flavours. Even the carrots tasted like proper carrots! I’d forgotten how nice a carrot should taste! Full marks from us.

This is a lovely inn in an exceptional part of the country. We called to break the journey from the Scottish isles back to Worcestershire. The staff and ambience were good, and the food too. A super steak pie with gravy!! Would have awarded 5 stars but it was let down by a dreadful nights’ sleep on what was probably the worst mattress I have slept on! Back still aching two days later… I learned from a family member that they had a brand new mattress - maybe it was due for up date!! Room 6, management!!

Me & Wife have being having a few day break on Whitbarrow village. I rang Troutbeck Inn after a little Google search to book a table last minute on Easter Sunday. We was happy to hear we were able to book 3pm by the friendly staff member. After reading online reviews we was looking forward to it. On arrival (free parking) the hotel/restaurant doesn't reflect the interior. It's a lovely, rustic, clean restaurant/pub vibe. The friendly staff greeted us & sat us down immediately. We ordered the "Sunday special" Beef Roast & it was out within 5/10 minutes. WOW. 10/10 on presentation & taste .... we ordered 2 soft drinks & both had icecream for dessert, which was gorgeous. In all a fantastic experience, lovely friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere/decor & outstanding food on offer - at a reasonable price. If in the area again we will absolutely return. Thanks for any staff whom read ☺️👏🏻

Very friendly owners gave us a warm welcome and provided excellent service. The fish and chips were the best we’ve ever had. Generous portions and very good quality. Starters and desserts also excellent. Highly recommended. Will certainly return. Just wish we lived closer!

Stayed New Year's Eve and had a great time from start to finish. Warm welcome on arrival , great meal and great breakfast. Enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Good little inn serving good wholesome food. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean and view from the window of the hillside and landscape lovely. Shower was nice size and clean. Bathroom washbasin was far to shallow and small. Overall a pleasent stay.

Lovely place, The owners are very welcoming and nothing is any trouble. Felt very at home here, room was comfortable, food in the pub is good too and portions are very generous. Stayed a few times and my go to in the area
