Peniche Surf Lodge 1

Had such a wonderful time, surpassed all my expectations. The camp is organized by a lovely family with very big hearts for surf and hospitality. They welcome you with lots of warmth and make sure you have such a wonderful time. The camp is the perfect experience for solo travelers or small groups that are passionate to learn or improve on surfing and love to meet friendly people from all around the world. The lodge starts feeling like home very fast with all the travelers sharing similar passion and with the hosts being so warm and welcoming. The surf teachers are really experienced and good surfers that are very good at teaching you to surf and helping you progress so much in just a week. They are really good at seeing what you need to progress. They are very encouraging, help you have the most fun in the water, and create such an enjoyable environment with their humor, support, and positive energy. You can really feel and absorb their love for surfing and helping you in the waves. The lodge is very clean and very very cozy with spacious and clean communal areas. Is great to make dinners with the other guests. The location is very beautiful, next to beautiful ocean cliffs, definitely, a great place to take a walk during sunsets. Definitely recommend this place and would love to come back!

Recently my family and I stayed at the the Peniche surf lodge, and being one of the younger surfers the instructors (Dane and Duncan) really helped by pushing us onto waves and improving our pop ups. The accommodation was great and I liked the sense of community since we shared kitchen space. The family room in lodge 2 was perfect, and the beds were very comfy! On the beach it was nice to relax in the sun after surfing and it was lovely surprise and a great addition to the day when Claire brings tea down and some lovely biscuits to the beach as well. They also helped by giving us places to go for tea and I hope I’ll be able to go back next year. I really recommend you go and visit the surf lodge for a great holiday. Evelynne (12)

Had an amazing week staying here, can’t recommend highly enough. Clean comfy hostel, great location for bars and restaurants, surf equipment and lessons are spot on. Claire, Duncan and Dane are super friendly and welcoming and their good vibes translate into a genuinely fun and happy lodge. Thanks for a great holiday!

Superb accomodation, excellent location. Clare & Duncan were excellent hosts and Duncan's local knowledge was great. Good wetsuits & board selection with proffesional tuition for beginers and the more advanced. The other guests were great, I really loved my time here. Can't wait to return!

We had an amazing time at Peniche surf lodge and definitely come back! Your feeling like a big family, having beach days everyday. You get picked up at 10am ( how cool is that ?!) than u can choose if u just rent or take a lesson ( which are really good !!!). Duncan and Dane ( father and son) adjust the lessons to every level, have amazing tips, because they can really surf and literally read the oceans !! Amazing to get to know their knowledge. Claire (wife) is providing a lovely house, well equipped kitchen, clean rooms and they all make a lovely, funny atmosphere. We felt super welcomed and can’t wait to get back :)

I have been trying to progress at an intermediate level for a long time. Dane & Duncan helped me breakthrough. I made progress every single day. They are great coaches at all levels, the board selection is awesome, the lodge is super comfortable and the perfect mix of relaxed and fun. You can't go wrong here. I think the most validating point here is that while I was there for 2 weeks half of the people that came in had been there 2 or more times. I'll definitely be joining that group and coming back again!

Seriously the nicest family I have ever met. The best surf hostel you could ever ask for. Whether you are looking to learn how to surf, improve your surfing, or just surf with a bunch of people who are super interesting, kind, and into surfing then this is the place for you! Highly recommend!

I saw the strength of a family that changed their lives for a dream, their dream, and starting from scratch they have now created a fantastic reality and a unique atmosphere, it's not just a surf school, but a family of surfers from all over the world . Duncan, Claire and Dane are the best in Peniche! Very recommended!
