Hotel Moderno

For my first visit to Pavia, I chose to stay at Hotel Moderno. This was a unique experience for me. Rather than walking across the pedestrianized Centro Storico, I could actually see Hotel Moderno across the Piazza. It is only a few minutes walk into the pedestrianized portion of the centro storico. My room was comfortable and as shown in photographs. The front reception staff was friendly and useful. Prima colazine was generous. As I am always looking for opportunities to improve my spoken Italian, I was given the chance to roam about a large Italian supermarket just a fgew blocks away. If I return to pvia , Hotel Moderno would be my choice for accomodation again

Good hotel with good staff ... i stay there about 10 days and it is very nice place. it is very near form Pavia Train Station. i had a problem with safe box, but they solve it in the same day the staff was very friendly. the PEO restaurant was very nice .

I stayed here multiple times in the early 1990’s for business. The best that can be said is that the staff are nice. Old design, apparently not upgraded much over the past 27 years. Beds not very comfortable, noisy, poor temperature control, bare bones design. Depressing to stay there more than one or two nights. Find another place.

Very good hotel located just in front of main train station in Pavia, very practical location if you travel by train. Just 10 minutes on foot to historical city centre. Nice, helpful staff; clean, comfy room, beds and bathroom, and excellent buffet restaurant. Reasonable price. Great option if you want to stay overnigth in Pavia to visit the historical city centre and (don't miss it) the beautiful, impressive Certosa, a must in Lombardia, just 20 km north from Pavia.

This must be one of the friendliest hotels on the planet. A warm welcome, easygoing, excellent and friendly staff. They also welcomed our bikes and washed clothes for us. The rooms were spotless and the breakfast first class . Nice and central too.

There isn’t a huge offer of quality hotels in Pavia & 4 Star Hotel Moderno looked to be the best option for our large groups’ needs. It served our purposes very well, being just a short (25 minute) drive to the Castelletto Racetrack where we were competing. It is also perfectly positioned for the train station which is immediately opposite. Staff were wonderful, always really helpful & friendly, in addition to being very amenable to late check out. Much appreciated, thank you. Communal areas are pleasant enough, but unlikely to win any style awards & our twin room was basic, worn & dated. It did the job though & its good points included decent WiFi, Trussardi bathroom products & a very powerful shower. Being rear facing, it was also peaceful. Others in our group, many of them regulars of the hotel, reported having much better, renovated bedrooms, so it’s worth insisting on these. Breakfast was a pleasant, table served cold plate of bread, cheese etc with hot dishes available to order. The Peo Restaurant, attached but independently run, was again not a beacon of high style, but food was very good & service outstanding. To conclude, the accommodation is nothing flash, though it is decent value, but The Moderno won us over because of its wonderful staff, & handy location. We would definitely return, but I would request a renovated room.

4 stelle sulla carta, 2 stelle nella realtà. HOTEL vecchio, camere vecchie, zero insonorizzazione..alle ore 6.00/6.30 ci si sveglia per il rumore del traffico. Colazione e servizi nella media. Pulizia nella media. Per una notte di passaggio può andare, ma credo e spero che Pavia possa offrire di meglio.

Hotel posizionato nella piazza in fronte alla stazione ferroviaria, con alcuni parcheggi auto riservati antistanti la struttura; struttura facilmente raggiungibile con mezzi, a due passi dal centro. Accoglienza e personale gentilissimo e professionale, molto disponibile. Stanza luminosa, molto silenziosa; con letto ampio, porta valigia, tv piatta, sedia e poltroncina, armadio, frigo bar, macchina caffè, spine usb per ricarica. Bagno non grande ma con ampia doccia, wc, bidet, ampio lavabo; molto accogliente e caldo. Colazione con ampio buffet dolce / salato, frutta / verdura, distributore di succhi, personale a disposizione per caldo (caffè, the, orzo, capuccino, ecc...). In generale avrebbe bisogno di una rinfrescata in alcuni particolari . . . quali infissi esterni . . .

Hotel pulito e curato con tutto il necessario per un soggiorno confortevole, camere silenziose e pulite. Minibar presente. Reception impeccabile e la presenza del ristorante all’interno dell’hotel è perfetta per chi arriva e non ha voglia di girare. Ristorante di alta qualità, servizio impeccabile e le cameriere sono eccezionali nel prendersi cura del cliente
