Really enjoyed our stay here! We were tired from our drive and just wanted to eat and relax when we arrived, so having a restaurant on site was great! Vinny the bartender/server was awesome!! Made us lovely drinks and let us relax on the patio. Food was really good too! Room was clean and comfortable, so kudos to the cleaning staff☺️We liked it so much we stayed again on our way home 10 days later! And again, restaurant was great, Marylou this time, same great service and food! Had a booking issue and it was promptly handled by Jay the morning we checked out! The hotel is lucky to have these 3 staff members!! They made our stay memorable ☺️
I must say our experience here was much better than I expected. Great check in experience. Check out right on our Iphone. The 2 bedroom unit was spacious and clean and well maintained. Sure, a bit outdated, but still really nice. Great view of the beautiful grounds from our condo. Loved the huge pool. We were only here for 4 nights to visit family nearby so we didn't use the other amenities, but there is also tennis and volley ball, shuffleboard, a put put mini golf and billiards and a small gym. There is also St. Joe's Walkway nearby. Conveniences nearby like the European Village, a Publix, etc. Easy ride to Flagler Beach and St. Augustine. An hour and 15 minutes from JAX. Highly recommend. We would stay here again.
OK . . . this hotel is undergoing a change from Days Inn to IHG. We knew that going in and were afraid based upon recent reviews. The staff was very friendly and while in desperate need of upgrading, the hotel overall was fairly clean. The big issue was the constantly rattling pipes in the walls. We stayed in room 208 and the pipes made so much noise, we couldn't sleep. We spoke with a night manager and was told that the issue is very low water pressure from the city and while it is being addressed the only way to reduce the noise is to run water in the bathtub. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available. OK . . . while running some water in the bathtub did reduce the pipe noise, it certainly wasn't ideal and the sound of running water was almost as annoying. While the room was clean, there was a very noticeable boot print on one of the sheets . . . not cool folks. There is a breakfast however it is VERY 'continental'. We opted to eat at Cracker Barrel. Hopefully, these issue will be addressed soon however until then, we will not be back.
Rose at the front desk was very welcoming. I would be very happy to have her be the face of my establishment. Friendly and accommodating. She did mention that the jacuzzi was not working, but someone was on their way to check it out. The room was clean and well lit. Our room was relatively quiet as it faced the parking lot. Coffee was always available in the lobby/breakfast area. They clean the rooms only on request, that was not a problem for me. I would stay here again.
I stayed here using my Hilton Honor Points. It was one of the lowest points for the area, so I wasn't expecting too much. Boy was I surprised when we opened the door to our room. It was HUGE. King-sized bed, sofa, desk, kitchen area. The closet had double sliding mirrored doors (a plus for me since I'm so near sighted it's hard to apply makeup leaning over a sink). I can't think of one thing in the suite that I wanted or needed. Then, on top of everything, we had a free nice hot breakfast the next morning. Oh . . . and did I mention they didn't charge for parking, which has become a new thing. I would definitely recommend this inn.
Hotel was clean and saw many staff members working hard to keep it clean. No issues with the room and staff was friendly. Easy check in and check out process. It is decent for the price you are paying. There is a convivence store (Circle K), McDonalds, and Cracker Barrell within walking distance. Make sure you get down to breakfast prior to the 9:30 as they do start cleaning up a little early.
I read several bad reviews about this hotel but decided to take my chance because it was in a convenient place for me. I don’t know where those folks stayed because this place was super clean. The room we had was updated, beds we’re comfortable and bathroom was clean. Ladies at the front desk were very nice and even gave great suggestions for dinner. I will definitely stay again.
Econo lodge— I don’t expect much from EconoLodge and use it when we have to knowing that it is very basic, but it’s a bed and bathroom. This one is pretty tired and worn, although I can see that they are trying. We were visiting friends in Palm Coast and decided to stay near by not wanting to travel after our visit. As it was the Daytona 500 weekend, most hotels in Palm Coast were booked solid for weeks in advance. The EconoLodge even called us to make sure that we were actually going to come since we hadn’t checked in by 5 pm. EconoLodge rooms all open to the outside and second floor rooms are all walk-up. The cons— --When we arrived about 6:45, our room was not yet ready. I think it was normally used by long-term stay people. They literally had the cabinet outside that holds the refrigerator and were scrubbing it. —The bathroom--We were told they had just caulked the toilet and not to use it until 8:30 that night to give it a chance to dry. Even so, it still didn't flush properly, in spite of holding down the handle until everything goes down, the paper floats back up. The toilet lid does not fit properly (see photo). The new caulking around the tub was already cracking. The vent fan was not connected. The bathroom door handle is oxidized. --The furniture is worn (see photos), the chair uncomfortable as the padding is gone. --The microwave was missing (the maid apologized and said they were short about 6 or 7 that were broken). --No coffee maker in the room, even though we had cups and there was supposed to be one (no coffee maker, no supplies for it). —No blanket, only a sheet and thin cotton bedcover. --No breakfast, not even continental, and the lobby was blocked off (both probably due to COVID), leaving only the registration desk. --While there is internet, it is slow and you technically have to sign in, but it is not secure. —I bent down to plug in a device in a corner outlet only to be met with the odor of pee from a previous animal occupant. The Pros— --The fridge was big and worked, including a freezer compartment. Most new ones are only refrigerator and no way to refreezes your blue ice. --The floor has recently been replaced with new vinyl planking. It was pretty clean (the sink counter had something stuck on it, but it was difficult to tell because of the pattern on it, so I can see how it was missed.) --There’s a Cracker Barrel across the street so we could get meals easily. But be aware that with 4 motels/hotels in the area, it is often busy. --The bed was firm and comfortable (which counts bonus points for me) In the end— We paid for a king-sized bed and ended up with 2 doubles on the second floor. We reserved the room through the Choice hotels website 6 days in advance using our membership number, not through a third-party. The manager on duty said it came into their system as doubles and that all their kings had been sold out a while ago, even though my confirmation email said King. When my husband was chec
