The Japanese-style two bedroom house was beautiful! This guest house is located at a quiet neighbourhood yet the night market and the Taitung expo are with close proximity. House staff were friendly and informative. Taxi driver told us that October is the month which strong winds are expected in Taitung and it’s best to surf at that time. Hope to visit Taitung and stay at Machiya Posong again!

民宿地點很棒 有電動車和腳踏車可以代步 房間空間大、床大又舒適一夜好眠 唯一美中不足的地方是，入住當天是下雨天，下次有機會一定會再光顧。

Taitung is a small town. And so this hotel is pretty much in the “center”  Across the street is a convenience store opening 24 hours. Nearby is a cinema. There are some small shops and bars nearby. If you crave a burger - Burger King is a 10-min walk away.  As for the hotel - it’s got a lot of what business travelers need. 24 hour laundry machines and dryer. It’s got a small gym with treadmill, elliptical, indoor bike and a small weight rack with a bench. The television channels are not very international - with all of the news channels only coming from Taiwan.  My room was clean, and there is a separate shower and toilet area - convenient for couples staying together. Bed is decent, clean and I would say that the room can get quite hot if you don’t turn on the AC. At the evenings, I was awaken a few times from the warmth in the room despite having the AC on. (To be fair - it was 32 degrees Celsius outdoors) Breakfast is very plentiful. From cooked Chinese dishes to simple western breakfast choices like eggs, toast and fruits. Salads are always available and the coffee machine is self serve. (I wasn’t able to find a good Long Black anywhere in this town)  From the hotel to the Taitung train station is about 15mins by taxi. Use Line Go to reserve as it is most convenient. Surprisingly, even during 8:00am on a weekday, getting a cab on this App was easy.  Hope this helps if you have to go to Taitung

แน่นอนว่าการเข้าพักที่ดีที่สุดของเราตลอดการเดินทาง 2wks ในไต้หวัน! ในระหว่างการเข้าพักของเราเราได้รับการต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นจากพนักงานเสมอ เมื่อมาถึงพวกเขาให้เครื่องดื่มกับเรา - มันอร่อย! เราชอบอาหารเช้าจริงๆ ทําเลที่ตั้งอย่างชาญฉลาด - ห่างจากร้านอาหารที่ดีที่สุดในไถตงเพียงไม่กี่ช่วงตึก ด้วยจักรยานให้เช่าฟรีในสถานที่ คุณสามารถเดินทางไปได้ทุกที่ในเมืองไถตง ที่จอดรถในสถานที่สองแห่งทําให้ง่ายต่อผู้คนที่มาโดยรถยนต์ และตัวห้องเองก็กว้างขวาง สะอาดสะอ้าน - แม้แต่แชมพูและเจลอาบน้ําก็มีคุณภาพสูงสุด แม้ว่าสิ่งที่ดีที่สุดที่เราชอบคือพนักงาน / เจ้าของ พวกเขายินดีต้อนรับแสดงความสนใจอย่างแท้จริงในประสบการณ์การเดินทางของเราและพร้อมที่จะแบ่งปันเคล็ดลับในท้องถิ่น เราจะพักที่นี่อีกแน่นอนถ้าเรากลับมาอีกในอนาคต!

The hotel was very nice with a free parking. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel also supply complimentary coffee, filtered water and microwave.

Outstanding hotel but in the middle of nowhere. Also next to a Thai restaurant there aren't many good food choices nearby. Breakfast at this place has a lot of items but not much that are suited for westerns. Overall, I recommend staying in the city and paying few extra bucks.

Very spacious room good for family. Have to try the restaurant up the hill with the grill fish and bbq. Hoyle breakfast was very good too

The hotel staff was super kind, but when we got to our room on thw sixth floor we found two cockroaches, one of them was huge. The staff immediately switched our room and gave us an upgrade to the 8th floor, which seems to be a renewed and cleaner part of the hotel. Hope they renew all of the rooms, because the location is great.

Very uncomfortable bed. There was a spider in the bedroom. The bedsheets and the blanket always felt humid, so not nice at all. The bathroom floor was covered in water after showering… could be improved with a shower curtain or sth. The whole structure is quite old but I guess it’s what you get for a cheaper option. Also I was a bit concerned because there is no key, no lockers, no door key, and the main door is always open for guests. And there are quite many people coming and going, staying in other rooms upstairs. I would have preferred some level of security for valuables. They provide car pick-up and drop-off at the pier with the car. You can rent a e-bike from them for 600ntd/day (e-bike for foreigners without international license), it is quite expensive but I’ve called other rental shops and they said the same price… the lady also gave me a raincoat at least!
