KKevin and ZuzannaThe Positives:
The room was spacious and nicely decorated, which made for a comfortable base. The reception staff were genuinely thoughtful - they prepared a personalized printed sheet with local insights when I arrived, which was a lovely touch. The gym facilities were adequate for a quick workout.
Location-wise, the bus station is within reasonable walking distance if that's your transport hub. If you're fortunate to get a mountain-facing room, you'll enjoy some beautiful views.
Areas That Need Attention:
I encountered bed bugs and woke up with itchy bumps. When I requested a room change, the situation wasn't handled with the care I'd expected - no apology or compensation was offered. This is something the hotel really needs to address.
Noise can be an issue - you'll hear conversations in the corridors from both guests and staff, plus the elevator running. Construction noise is also present if you don't have the mountain view.
Things to Know:
The hotel lacks proper organization for transport services, which you'd expect from a hotel at this level. The reception staff tried to help with booking transport to Yuanyang, but some of the advice was actually wrong - suggesting routes that were much more expensive and longer than necessary. I felt they were rushing through answers rather than fully listening to my questions - better systems and more attention to detail are needed.
The laundry service is extremely expensive and completely unaffordable for most travelers. The hotel advertises guest laundry on their Trip.com page, but there isn't any - only the expensive service option.
The rooftop restaurant is pricey and serves very traditional Chinese cuisine with quite intense dishes (think animal heads featured in the menu photos) - this might be quite challenging for Western travelers to navigate.
The breakfast has decent variety but is entirely Chinese-style with no Western or vegetarian options, despite what may be advertised.
The pool was closed during my stay even with warm weather.
Bottom Line: A hotel with potential and some genuinely nice touches, but hygiene and service consistency need improvement.
GGANESH K PANADAMImpressive hotel but quiet.. Area around hotel dead. Not many shops open for dinner at around 7:30pm.
So had to take a taxi ¥18 to Hekou town.
Funny that construction activities still allowed at 11pm, could hear lorries and excavators in motion..
Breakfast, starts at 7am, was nice but no coffee or tea available. We could not enjoy much coz our taxi came acalling at 7:26am to take us to Hekou North train station.
