My wife and I are frequent travelers to Panama City and whenever we feel Le Méridien is our second home . All of the employees are warm and friendly and heads up to the Gerente General Pilar and Desk manager Monica who will bend over backwards to make your style better. If you are lucky enough to get an ocean view you will encounter the best view in Panama over looking Casco Viejo and Punta pacifica. The rooms are outfitted with high quality furnishings, comfy beds , marble bathrooms and beautiful art. I highly recommend this establishment as you get more value first your money and guests are catered to on an individual basis
Always stay at Hilton as Diamond members for many years, and was pleasantly surprised by how good this Garden Inn turned out to be. It apparently reopened under new management last year, and has been spruced up. The service is excellent, with a lot of staff, and the restaurant is surprisingly good (versus what you might expect with a Garden Inn) with a lot of variety and quality. Overall it competes very well with the two more expensive Hilton hotels in Panama City, where we used to stay on visits, but at a much lower price.
WONDERFUL hotel. I didn't know what to expect, and booked this hotel without reading reviews. I was very happy!! Hotel looks brand new - everything is updated and looks fresh. Staff is wonderful. We arrived well before check-in time, and were given a room right away. The AC Hotel's location was great - safe, lots of local food places to walk to. I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Panama!
Unparalleled service and prime location in the heart of Casco Viejo. I had the beautiful loft suite with huge balcony. Loved the classic architecture. I was there for 4 nights and made full use of the well equipped kitchen for preparing breakfast (which was not included). I also did a couple of tours and can recommend the private Panama City tour which was fabulous. Yes, there is loud music (I would have preferred more local sounds), and there are some small nitpicks (no hot water in the kitchen, some signs of wear and tear), but the location, view, and service from Andres and his team really put this one over the top; they may even have the Ritz beat on service! I would definitely stay again without reservation and have already recommended it to others.
CONS: -Older building -Room corridor hot & humid a/c -You can hear street noise very clearly and birds through the windows. I was on the 18th floor, shocking -TV reception was terrible, impossible to change caption to English. ***NO WASH RAGS/FACE TOWELS*** just body towels and hand towels. PROS: -Staff is pretty nice. The male staff seemed nice than the women. -Bed and pillow comfy, good shower pressure a/c worked. I was in room 1816 -Housekeeping was good thorough -No elevator issues -Breakfast is DELICIOUS and SOOO many options -Some of the breakfast items rotated daily. My kids and I loved the stewed fish for breakfast but unfortunately it was only there one out of the 4 mornings we were there. -Friday & Saturday there was a dinner buffet ($23 pp) it was worth the price. So good. -I loved how festive the restaurant is during dinner. There seemed to always be a party happening in the event room past the dining room. -There's also live music on the weekends. **my restaurant review above is not for the bar Inna Vega, the food there was yuck. I ordered a mixed salat with the smoked salmon. I thought I was a piece of fish but it was the thin slices you put on a bagel -Pool has free cabanas, nice size pool. It does go to 10ft and no life guard or clear demarcation so watch your kids. I loved the deep end. -The view is amazing from the room and the pool. -There's a little market on the property to the left of the entrance. You can get souvenirs & water for cheap. All in all I recommend this hotel. I traveled with 2 teens. I'm a Mariott Member, I stay in 4.5- 5 stars.
My wife and I were planning our wedding anniversary, and we decided to spend a few days in our favorite part of Panama City. We have been permanent residents of Panama since 2010 and often celebrate special events in Casco Viejo. There are many options for great hotels in this district, but we narrowed our choice to Hotel Felipe. It turned out to be a great choice. Like many restored buildings in Casco the original architecture has been beautifully replicated. The individual rooms are marvelously modern and upscale. The service was friendly and efficient. They provided valet parking for the two nights we were there, so we didn’t need to contend with that situation. When we entered our room, a chilled bottle of champagne was waiting for us. The hotel has a close association with El Enemigo, the outstanding restaurant across the street. We had an amazing dinner on the rooftop restaurant and bar. The next day we had a wonderful lunch in the ground floor restaurant. Most importantly, the location is perfect. Everything is within a short walking distance, the Cathedral Plaza, the Canal Museum, the Church of the Golden Altar, and more. On our special night it was again a short walk to our favorite French Restaurant and then another short walk to Danilo’s Jazz Club. We look forward to celebrating another special event at Hotel San Felipe.
We loved the location next to Panama canal and our view from balcony to passing ships and Bridge of the Americas. The staff was very friendly from kind receptionist to attentive bartender and they were all smiling and waving to our little son (4 months) every time they saw us. Gym was airconditioned and clean, opened till 12 am, swimming pool big and refreshing with sunbeds and umbrellas all around. Breakfast (7 usd per person) rich, tasty with good selection of fruit, chicken, saussages, ham, cheese and eggs. Free luggage room (even for couple days when we flew to Bocas) and shuttle to mall nearby. A taxi or uber cost 4 dollars to the city center or the fish market (Mercado De Marisco Cinta Costera). We made a great choice to book this hotel.
Stayed two nights - absolutely happy with everything that hotels has to offer. Good location (that is quiet but still downtown for dinners and going out). Friendly and efficient staff from the minute we walked in until check-out. Got a very nice and spacious room on the 7th floor with lovely views. Rooms was very trendy and all amenities you can dream of. Very nice bedding (I start to mention this on purpose as many hotels we stayed in recently - though mostly in Europe - have terrible bedding so that you end up running to the Chiro the next day), WLAN functions, very very clean and just - as simple as that - a top notch experience. For the price we paid, defenitely a 5-start-plus experience. Quick note about the bar: very nice. Quick note about the breakfast: great selection and superb quality produce. Will certainly return.
I cannot say enough about the front desk staff person. He was so kind about fixing a mistake I made. And traveling with a toddler is never easy, but we were allowed early check in, which was really above and beyond what we hoped for. All the stars for this stellar experience!!
ผผู้เข้าพักThe place is cheap, we didn't expect a 5 star hotel and accepted from the start we wouldn't be in luxury. However, we were looking forward to the pool, the roof top bar attached attached had a disco but thr music was deafening inside, you could talk or think straight. Thr pool area was ok could be amazing but the first day it was raining off and on so they closed it. Later it was open but thru close it at 7. We stayed again so we could use thr pool but it is Saturday and they offer pool pass for thr day. Needless to say thr kids were in thr pool thr entire day and evening taking over the entire pool, there qas no chance for adults to swim. The room was horribly small and you had to ask for anything you wanted which we were never told. So if you want a hair dyer you have to ask, if you want an iron you have to ask, if you want a refrigerator you have to ask. This we found out at the end of our first night. We ordered nachos and had to wait 1 . 5 hours at the pool we were never able to enjoy. Some of the workers were very nice. Thr guy who is waiter st the pool was so impressive. The guy who work at regustratiin late at night was amazing. The breakfast is over early and it really has nothing good except thr coffee.
