We booked a room in advance and looked forward to staying in the city. The room we’ve got was awful. It has mold and a very strong smell of sewage water (in all the room, not just the bathroom). We asked the receptionist to switch rooms. First, he gave us a show where he said he doesn’t smell anything, though he has nothing to say about the black mold over the wall. He said they don’t have a different room, so we can take the money and go to a different place. He said that without consulting his manager (which he needed for other basic logistics/decisions), so I’m guessing it’s not the first time it happens. He didn’t apologize, and when returning the money he asked for my phone, where he marked “reason for canceling” in my booking app as “found another accommodation”. We needed to look for another place to stay, where it was around 1900, and that’s how we spent our last night of the trip.
