Cook's Club Corfu - Adults Only

Lovely hotel, nice lobby, rooms and pool, but staff is not trained to deliver 5 stars service. Noises from housekeeping and grass mowing before 8am... Cantina staff tired and hardly bothered... Moody barmaid... There was nobody at the reception when I wanted to check in. 15 euros for room service and 150 euros for a massage, pure joke. Location? Also a joke.

Reading recent reviews of Cook's Club, Corfu, I wonder if we stayed in the same hotel. We paid over £900 each for a week in a five star, luxury, adults only, all-inclusive hotel. It was only after booking and doing some research that we realised we were going to a Greek version of a Club Med 18 to 30 resort. We are most definitely senior citizens and were horrified at the prospect. Fortunately, there were guests of a similar generation to us who had the same startled look on their faces, as if to say, "What have we done?" Let's start with the positives: The staff are lovely - so friendly and helpful. The public areas are very attractive (apart from the Cantina!) The grounds are clean, well-maintained and attractive. Now the negatives: The bedroom was very basic and compact, with a rail and ten hangers for clothes, two drawers and two shelves - not 5 star luxury despite having bath robes and tea and coffee making facilities. The bed itself was very firm and the pillows were hard. However, to be fair to the hotel, we had requested a quiet room and our room was definitely quiet The pool area was pleasant but the sun beds were so uncomfortable with no padding - not good for relaxing. DJs played house music from midday to midnight. I'm sure the young guests loved it but it would have been nice to have some easy listening music occasionally for us oldies. But the worst part of our whole experience was the food - it was dire! Breakfast looked amazing and was probably the best meal of the day. There was everything you could possibly wish for BUT the cooked items were, at best lukewarm, but generally cold. Lunch and dinner were ordered via an app - no problem with that - but there was no finesse, no effort at presentation and only token vegetables, if any. If you ordered for example spinach pie, you were served a portion with no garnish, no sides, nothing. You could order as many choices as you wanted in order to find something you enjoyed but judging by the number of unfinished meals, I can only assume guests decided the food wasn't worth eating. The Cantina is aptly named since it looks like a cafe or school canteen. This is certainly not 5 star luxury. I suppose the one consolation is that this is the only holiday we have taken where we did not put on weight - probably lost some! I imagine the management would take issue with me, telling me Cook's Club is a "boho" hotel and the food is street food and brought to the table at different times, to be shared, as a Greek family would do. Well, I'm sorry - we do not pay nearly £2000 for a hotel which is more 3 star than 5, where there is no apparent luxury and street food is considered acceptable. Advice to the discerning, seasoned traveller - do not be taken in by the hype (as we were). It is not 5 star, it is not luxurious and adults only means anyone 16 and over.

Lovely hotel. Fresh bottles of water in your room every day. Tea/coffee making facilities in your room and a mini fridge. Food good. 2 pools. Lovely interior. Can’t fault it. However the area outside of the hotel was a really disappointment - run down, nothing nice about, not like your typical “*****” with a lovely beach and shops etc. if you want do anything outside of the hotel you need to get a bus/taxi. We got the bus into Old Corfu Town for 5euros for 2 people so very reasonable. We found there wasn’t a huge lot to do. There were lots of boat trips buy were 8am-6pm, they take you to various beaches & you’ve to swim from the boat the beaches (which isn’t for everyone), we were tempted with a jeep safari trip but it was 110 euros each. All in all lovely hotel but if you come here - take it as a chill out holiday!!!

Just home from a week at the hotel and honestly can't fault the place. We were a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews but overall we had a great time. The hotel was spotless throughout and rooms were cleaned daily. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful any time we asked questions about the hotel. There are two pools at the hotel, both very well maintained with plenty of sun loungers. Both pool bars were well staffed. There are daily bar snacks available for lunch, any we had were all good. Included in your stay is one night in the a la carte restaurant and one night in the smoke house restaurant. You can book this via the guest relations desk. We only went to the smoke house and the food was delicious and all so fresh. Samantha at guest relations is a hidden gem. We booked a boat trip with her, she was so friendly and made a point of speaking with us any time we crossed paths to make sure we were enjoying our stay. There is plenty of selection in the dining hall for breakfast lunch and dinner. Even for fussy eaters you can find something to eat. The app is not as bad as people have made out. We never had an issue with this any time during our stay. We were in a pool facing room and never had an issue with noise at night time,maybe we are deep sleepers. There were tennis courts at the hotel, a gym and daily sound meditation every morning. The evening entertainment varied each night. There is a bus stop out side the hotel that takes you into Corfu Old Town, it's 5 euro for an all day pass. We went into Gouvia one evening for dinner. It was quiet but staff on one of the bars explained that it was still off season and everywhere was opening from 1st of May.

Where do I start, cooks club Corfu is a wonderful hotel for adults. The rooms were spacious and clean with very modern furniture, the beds were comfortable and if you wanted to drink on your balcony you have an amazing view of either of 2 pools they have. I have never slept this well in a hotel before and the cleaning ladies always ensured we had enough water and a clean space. The staff were lovely and very helpful, they gave us recommendations on where to go in Corfu. The hotel had everything from tennis and yoga to a spa and a shop for necessities. The pool area had enough sun beds and chairs for everyone staying there. And both areas of the pools got lots of sun which is great if you love tanning like me :) Now the food and drink were the best I’ve gotten from an all-inclusive. I can not express how happy I was with the quality and the service of the food. For breakfast they had a help-yourself buffet style, with hot breakfast, pastries, fruit, oats cereal and lots more, there was something for everyone including lots of options for people who are vegan or gluten-free. The lunch was ordered from their app with an average of around 15 different options of food every day, which was unexpected but a nice surprise. They also had a table dedicated to some picky bits like bread, pickles, olives, fruit and dressings. This was the same situation for dinner. They also had a similar amount of options for food at dinner. They have 3 restaurants the cantina which is the one we ate in most nights. But they have 2 other restaurants you can eat at if u reserve in advance. We ate at the Italian/ Greek restaurant on the last night. And I was impressed by how good the food was, the exceptional service and the amazingly talented chefs. Lastly the bars, the bars serviced bar bites from 10 am-5 pm every day, again they had an amazing selection of food and it was different every day of the week. They had a broad range of drinks, including, lots of cocktails. Overall I can’t fault this hotel and I truly loved our stay here, I will be back :)

I visited your hotel and stayed for three days. Your service is unique, your staff is kind and I want to especially thank Ms. Arvanitaki for her professionalism and for her help these days. Your breakfast is rich and your chef Mr. Zervas cooks great . I will definitely visit your hotel again soon

After looking at a number of places, this is where my girlfriend and I decided to go for our first holiday together. We were not disappointed at all. Cooks Club is absolutely beautiful, clean, and a pleasant place to spend a week relaxing. Highlights for us were the stunning boho vibes throughout the resort, amazing selection of food, and the cleanliness throughout. Rooms were spacious and open, giving that bright yet intimate feel throughout our stay. They were cleaned daily, with cold bottles of water left for us each time. The way the food is ordered shows why their slogan is 'New Generation Hotels' - the simplistic way to order hot food from an application, allowing you to grab breads and desserts as you wish is how all resorts should function! I wish the juices were topped up more frequently, but that is a very minor thing to mention amongst a large number of positives. The drink selection at the bars are fantastic, and the bar staff are top class. I highly recommend booking the a la carte dinner, as that was one of the highlights for us. I've eaten at michelin star restaurants, and this was one of the best steaks I've had!!! There are two pools at Cooks Club, and we found ourselves spending most of the time at the chill out infinity pool at the back, which was perfect for our needs. The pools were a little cold during our stay, but that may be due to the time of the year (just before the start of the main season) The gym was also beautiful, and had everything you need for a quick workout to earn that snack from the snack bar, which had enticing treats every day. Reading other reviews, I do not understand the comments about poor food as we enjoyed almost every meal we had. Yes, the environment is loud at times, but this is an adult-only resort themed for the younger generation, so we were not too surprised hearing others having fun in the early hours. This did not bother us. Overall I don't think we could have picked a better place to spend our first trip away. We're already looking at the other Cooks Club resorts for future holidays. Amazing experience in the spa today. Everything was perfect, from the atmosphere to the customer service, to the treatments itself. I was treated so well, and throughly enjoyed my visit today. Marileta was my therapist and she was so calm, informative, gentle and really friendly. She really is 5* and amazing at what she does! I highly recommend the spa and am so happy with my experience today!

Great stay in beautiful hotel The not so good A lot of what you read about the noise is spot on. We happened to be in a quiet area of the hotel so got away lightly compared to others in our group who were in amongst it. Them and other guests complained and it did quieten things down but the problem is the sound proofing as much as inconsiderate guests at 2-3am every night. We arrived very late and the night porter doesn’t provide the warmest welcome but this isn’t a reflection of all the other staff. The great Loved the interior design, wide variety of guests, drinks and food choices and quality - this is where we disagree on other reviews - it was all very very good. You must try the al a carte - they’re both very good. The restaurant app is clunky but not as awful as some describe We had a swim up room which is nice but the weather wasn’t great so a bit wasted - also the sun was only on the space in the afternoon so even with better weather would use the pools until after lunch. The staff we met (other than mentioned above) were all very pleasant and helpful Would come back for sure but not sure would pay some of the prices seen. We got a great deal and felt it was very good value for money.
