Cherwood Guest House

Stayed for 2 nights this week as needed a place to stay while I was staying in Paignton for my nans funeral. I booked the Cherwood after seeing the reviews and I was not disappointed. Jo and Martin were great hosts, welcoming, kind and just lovely. We had the triple room and this was fine for us. The hotel is kept in immaculate condition. The breakfast was really good and I would definitely return when next in Paignton. I never give anywhere 5 stars as I believe everything can be improved on, but I couldn't find any faults hence the 5 stars. Thanks Jo and Martin x

The hosts Martin and Jo genuinely make you feel at home, friendly , welcoming, very accommodating but not at all invasive. True hospitality professionals and the guest house is spotless with rooms well appointed and other thoughtful touches like the kids Library of books and DVDs. My Family really enjoyed their stay there and look forwrd to staying there again.

I had the pleasure of staying at this charming bed & breakfast, and it truly exceeded all expectations. Jo and Martin, the owners, are absolutely wonderful, always ready to assist and ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In the morning, you’re greeted with smiles and friendly chats from Jo and Martin, adding to the delightful experience. The place is also neat and clean, reflecting their attention to detail. The beds are comfortable, offering a restful night’s sleep after a day of exploring. Whether you’re in the mood for a traditional English breakfast or Belgian waffles, they have you covered. Additionally, they are considerate of dietary preferences, offering delicious options for vegetarians. It’s a delightful place that combines hospitality with comfort, making for a truly enjoyable stay. I highly recommend it!

We spent 2 nights at Sherwood Guest house and it was excellent. The hosts are very friendly and made us feel at home during our stay. The bedroom was well presented and very clean. Breakfast is great. Location is very convenient and at the same time very quiet which helps for a good night sleep. I wouldn't hesitate in booking again or recommending it to relatives and friends.

We had an excellent one night stay at Cherwood Jo and Martin were excellent hosts our room was 100% clean and tidy throughout,beds were comfy too and lovely touches in the room to make your stay more enjoyable , breakfast was also fantastic and attention to detail was spot on, great value for money and close to everything, beach town car park, we certainly will return when weather gets warmer Many thanks Tracy & Tony

Our second time at Cherwood and there will definitely be a third. Jo and Martin give 100% attention to detail and go above and beyond to make your holiday special. They have everything you need for the perfect stay. There’s umbrellas for rainy days, crab nets n buckets for the children to borrow, even blankets to take to the beach if it’s a bit nippy. They think of it all. Jo and Martin are outstanding hosts and have a natural flair with children. They are always interested to find out about your day and offer helpful advice on places to visit. They really get to know each visitor well and personalise your experience which means the world to us. Breakfast is of extremely high standard and you certainly won’t leave the dining room hungry with a vast choice, catering for all dietary needs. Martins culinary skills are on point! Every inch of Cherwood is spotlessly clean and smells divine. Towels are super soft and there’s everything you need provided in the bathroom. Even VI Poo! There no risk of bathroom odours drifting into the bedroom! The location is perfect, with the beach literally on the doorstep and so many places to eat out. You are spoilt for choice. The circus was in town during our holiday and Jo kindly gave us some discount vouchers to help reduce the cost. There’s a fun fair and arcades minutes away but the location is so quiet and peaceful, away from any hustle and bustle, so you are guaranteed the very best nights sleep in super comfy beds. Jo and Martin, we can’t thank you enough. We love you both and can’t wait for a return visit. xx

We have styed here now quite a few times and once again had a fantastic stay. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. Our room was spotless and had everything you would need and more. As our stay was at the end of the season we were the only ones staying on the last day so you probably would expect there to be things missing at breakfast but this was not the case We didn't want for anything They even went out their way to get our son his favourite milkshake. Look at dates for next year already. Bed & Breakfast at its best.
