Beaches Guesthouse

We really enjoyed our stay. We had the king size bed and it was very comfortable and clean. Very good breakfast as well. Thank you Ged and Claire. We will recommend your bnb to our friends and family.

Our experience with Beaches was incredibly disappointing. We made a reservation at this bed and breakfast through ***********, clearly stating our late check-in time of 11:30pm due to work commitments. Despite our booking being accepted and payment processed, the host called us at 5pm asking about our arrival time. When we reiterated our check-in time, they informed us that they close at 10pm and couldn't accommodate us, leaving us to find last-minute alternative lodging with two young children in tow. Furthermore, the following morning, when we went for the promised breakfast, we found the doors locked, had no response to our calls, and were left waiting outside. Despite all this, we still had to attend a business meeting without having had any food for ourselves or our children. Throughout our stay, we encountered cleanliness issues, including finding hair in our food and cups not properly cleaned. When we raised these concerns with the host, they became defensive and uncooperative, refusing to acknowledge the problems and even resorting to evicting us from the property. In addition to the poor service and cleanliness, we also faced discriminatory behavior from the host, making derogatory remarks and displaying racist attitudes. This treatment was unacceptable and led us to leave the property prematurely. Despite all the evidence we gathered, the owner falsely denied our stay to *********** and refused any refund. This entire ordeal has been highly distressing, and we are now pursuing an official complaint against Beaches for their unacceptable behavior and lack of professionalism.

Absolutely wonderful B&B, the hosts couldn’t be lovelier, breakfast was delicious and room was super cute. It’s a great location for Paignton beach and parking is so helpful for this location too. We were down for the Great Big Paddle Parade and the hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating for our needs of a good sleep and early breakfast. Will definitely be staying here again ASAP.

Typical seaside B&B. Ged & Claire were very welcoming. The room was comfortable, and the shower was hot. Breakfast was small but tasty. Very close to sea front. Ideal for a getaway and I will use this B&B again

We didn't enjoy our stay as much as we'd hoped. I have to be fair Jed was very helpful and friendly. The decor was out dated and the breakfast tasted like it had all been cooked in the same pan also the cutely had marks on them and the glasses and cups too. I feel that staying here has made me want to rebook the Ashliegh hotel (which was five star all around) whenever we return to Paignton. I have never wrote a bad review but I would like to make others aware and let the host know where there is room for improvement. Many thanks

The room smelt fresh upon arrival the bed is amazingly comfortable. TV had more channels than mine at home 😄 so sat and watched Gogglebox in the evening on +1. B&B had good WiFi access from our room, lots of informative leaflets in the reception area for tourists. Breakfast was great for our Vegetarian food needs a proper Vegetarian full English very impressed. Hosts very friendly 10/10 from us :)

Having been unintentionally Claire and Ged's first guests in 2018 we have just returned from our sixth stay . Perfect weather an added bonus . We would never stay anywhere else -great rooms , so welcoming ,lovely breakfast and the added bonus of homemade cake . Claire and Ged should be justifiably proud of The Beaches and once again we have booked for 2024 .

Clean, well equipped, good sized en-suite room, very friendly accommodating owners, comfy bed and pillows, nice toiletries, very decent breakfast, 5* food hygiene rating, parking, 30 seconds walk from the front and incredibly good value.

Hosts were really friendly and helpful. Room was amazing and bed so comfortable. Location was spot on bang in the middle of torquay and Paignton. Lots of places to visit nearby. Will visit again soon. Thanks
