Unique food, impeccable service! I attended a large dinner in the ballroom. The chandeliers and lighting in the room created a beautiful atmosphere. The servers were kind and attentive. Main course was a unique aubergine dish - something out of the ordinary - and it was wonderfully prepared. I’ve eaten at The Alice for dinner as well as tea, and now I know that banquets are as delicious as the restaurant.

Brilliant location very close to town, this was booked for my guys.
Breakfast has a wide selection friendly staff.
The bar is 24 hours.
This time I selected standard family room which was 1 double bed and a sofa bed more than suitable.
Free parking.
I would definitely recommend the best western at Oxford.

My sister & I stayed for a night on a four day trip through the Cotswolds. She was booked into the Shepherds Hut which she adored & I enjoyed an upgrade to a gorgeous Farmhouse Loft room including a bathroom with shower & freestanding bath. Lovely meal in the pub & great breakfast. The staff were exceptionally friendly & welcoming. Very few guests the night we stayed.
SShane.E1988I booked this hotel for a weekend get away foe me and my partner. It was an early birthday treat, i advised the hotel this upon booking and they were fantastic enough to put a banner up and left a few little goodies for her which was amazing, very nice touch. The hotel staff were friendly, polite and courteous. Would definitely look at booking again in the future if we are down that way again.
JjosephinesaundersWe stayed here for one night in a family room as this was the only room available. We wanted somewhere with parking so this was one of the few hotels that came up for the area. We arrived early so there was ample parking. (There are 5 spaces at the front of the building) Check in wasn't until 2pm but one of the workers took us through to reception and we were able to check in 2 hours early which was great! The hotel is on a quiet street and approximately a 10 minute walk from the Jericho area which has several pubs and restaurants. It was around 15-20 minutes to the City centre. The room was a little dated but really spacious and clean. The bathroom was large and more modern. There was tea and coffee making facilities, an iron & board. Our only ”complaint” is the lack of a mini fridge in the room. Breakfast was really nice. Continental with lots of choices, and hot options such as eggs, beans, hash browns with toast. The information said there was vegan / veggie options but I didn't ask due to time. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If we were to return to Oxford, we would definitely stay at this hotel again. Thanks for our stay.
KKeith bAs a guesthouse we should compare it to other guesthouses but not when they are charging hotel prices. On arrival the staff was very rude. On being lectured on arrival we were asked to pay beforehand and then told our room was in the basement and my in laws were upstairs. On arrival at room I noticed mould on one wall, and it was 32 degrees and the room had no air conditioning. There was a very small shower room and I am generous if I say the tv was 10 inches. My in laws could not stand in their room, due to the sloping roof and had no place to hang their clothes. I went to reception to ask if they had a room with air con to which he said they were fully booked. I asked about their cancellation and refund policy and was told right now if I wanted it. I went to discuss it with the family when my son appeared and said that we had been asked to leave immediately because our attitude was not to be tolerated. I was upset but nothing major. Anyways I was very glad to see that the nearby travelodge had rooms at a mere £20-£30 more for the 3 days and proceeded to book and leave the said guesthouse. Ok the travelodge is a bit further away but you have taxis, buses and e scooters so no hassle in exchange for the comfort. My wife had stayed here years earlier and said that the standard has dropped significantly, with what was our room having been a breakfast lounge before. Having been in the hotel industry I found the guest house way below standard for guest house standards let alone travelodge/premier inn prices which he is charging. Customer service is key and these gentlemen had none:. Please do yourself a favour and do not stay here. Oxford has plenty of choices do not be fooled. This guest house should be downgraded by all sites and even inspected. Deplorable deplorable and more deplorable. A course in customer care is also essential for the staff here. It was our first day and nearly spoilt my holiday, had it not been for the abundance of options available at the click of a button.
ผผู้เข้าพักReally nice room! Lovely toiletries (L'Occitane) and good quality coffee, tea etc, had everything I needed, quiet, comfortable. I had an issue with the power sockets and this was resolved within 10 mins. Excellent location, I would highly recommend.
This hotel self rates as 2 stars - room was small, no bath, small sink, desk, only stool no chair. Nothing else. Shared bath. If you are on tight budget & this is what you want, then it’s ok. Conveniently located by train station. Negatives: internet was unacceptably slow. Carpets in common areas dirty and need a deep clean. A paint job would make common areas more presentable. Stairs extremely narrow and steep. Continental breakfast included; staff friendly, helpful except for one grumpy individual.
If it was not for the amazing staff, I would have left and asked for full refund. The manager - I believe her name is Ema, and room cleaning lady, they call her Auntie were amazing. She did everything from cleaning the rooms, hotel, and cooking! She deserves a raise. I think the owner is lucky - did not meet him, but here is my feedback directly to him: You ate lucky to have such dedicated staff. Please acknowledge them and reward them. The hotel has a lot of deferred maintenance. No hot or good pressure bathroom water. Beds are old, window does not work, no light bulbs in fixtures, no heating, very cold rooms …. Etc etc May be you are waiting to sell the place. However, I think you should consider spending some money on capital repairs. The breakfast is terrible. Please try your self the Spanish or bacon omelette!
