We booked this place in order to visit our daughter at UOttawa. This is a lovely hotel, with a wonderful location and very helpful and professional staff. Highly recommend.

The hotel is located conveniently close to everything and was really nice.

We really enjoyed our stay. While the rooms are small and there is no elevator, the ambience and decor are first rate and the service from the owner / manager superb. We were amazed at her energy!

Secure entrance with key card to building and room. Friendly management and help with questions. Great rates and close to where I was doing business.

We chose this property for its proximity to downtown (in the Byward Market area). There are some really nice positives. The hotel is an historical building, it is clean and well lit outside and felt safe because of the two locked front doors. It was adults only, so quieter. The owner seemed very hospitable. It felt like you were renting a room in someone’s home rather than a hotel/inn feeling (that could be or -). Area outside had quite a few homeless people. There were two arguments we heard while outside. You may get parking/ you may not as there are only 5 spots ($20 per night). The reception is downstairs and so no one at the front door and they buzz you in from the front door. There is no daily service to clean your room and there isn't 24 hr service (or reception/staff) but still feels safe with locks on doors. Walls and floors are not insulated well so you hear a lot from upstairs and when people are in the hall. With that said, again, it just felt like you were in someone’s home, not a hotel. It wasn’t noisy by any means. When we arrived, room was very cold (68 degrees) and had a stale smell. We turned off AC and got it to a comfortable 72 degrees. Overall, good experience and it was charming and very clean. Price was a little less than average hotel.
