Aloegrove Safari Lodge

This place is fantastic. Beautiful views, excellent pool, fun drive to the lodge, great food, warm and unobtrusive service, and they even facilitated a backroad shortcut through their expansive property to the cheetah conservation fund for us. We wish we had stayed longer!

I travelled with friends and we had 3 individual cottages built into the side of a hill. Everything was beyond expectation- the room was charming and well appointed, the views over the plains were wonderful and the sunsets left me speechless. The evening resort drive was hugely informative and lots of fun but the meals will be a lasting memory. They were all beautifully presented using local produce and served by caring and attentive staff who worked tirelessly to keep the entire Lodge spotlessly clean.

We were looking for a nice place to stay enroute from Windhoek to Etosha. This place is about 2.5 hours from Windhoek. The place is just magical. 18km down a good gravel road you will find the lodge laid out over a small hill giving it amazing views of the flat plane up to the Waterberg Plateau. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The views are incredible. The lodge food is excellent and the portions are very generous. They have veggie options but game meat features prominently. The night sky’s are boundless. The staff are very friendly. Book the short cut private road access to the Cheetah Conservation Fund site. A visit is essential. They are doing great work helping the struggling cheetah population and working with local farmers and communities to create meaningful engagement and practical reasons to buy in to their efforts.

The setting of this lodge is phenomenal. The room we were allocated definitely needs a makeover, the bathroom was very small and the shower was rubbish. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food was good.

We did appreciate the serenity of the place after hours on the (bad) road. Two or more nights are a must because the atmosphere near the water is magical. The spacious tent was beautiful, but our favorite place was the shower, a real African shower. Aloegrove Safari Lodge is a marvelous memory of our trip in Botwana. Many thanks for the too short stay.

Aloegrove is a stunning place. Johan and Ivy have made an amazing job of developing their safari lodge/reserve. The rooms and the views are simply stunning. They are conservationists and give animals that can’t be in nature a great life.

Spent two nights here and wish we had more! What a fantastic gem and incredible value for the price. Great food, amazing service, Ivy and Johan are such great hosts. We really enjoyed the drive and found everyone here to be such a pleasure. With a nice pool and a spectacular view from every angle, we really enjoyed this spot and hope to return for a longer stay next time, just to relax. They sorted everything for us with regards to our Cheetah Conservation Fund visit as well. Truly, just as good a stay as in the 5* resorts we've visited on this trip.
