The entire experience using Ammergau Lodge was excellent. Large rooms in excellent condition along with the flexibility to use the common rooms made the experience great. We were on a family trip to Germany to visit the Xmas Markets and having visited Oberammergau several times in the past we left it until the end which finished the trip on a high note.
The host made things easy and when discussing his lodge the pride was evident.
We liked their format, no in house staff, easy access with lockbox for access to keys, common rooms for relaxing, cooking and eating. Small such that we had very little interface with the other customers so there were no conflicts.
Easy to use with privacy and a very short walk to the downtown core.
